Does anybody know how to make covering stick, I mean after each game you have to change your players marking settings even if you have stocked the formation with your player set as covering?

I do not have PES4, or PES5 yet, But In all the other versions I have PES1-3, WE8 and WE9, it is the same in all of them!

I have not got my PS2 at the mo to try that, but I am sure that it does not work, I will give it a try though, thanks.

it is the same with the man-2-man, I am sure it is a programing error, and maybe it has never been reported so never changed.

Covering and marking settings are not saved as the opposition changes and you wouldn't want to be marking the wrong players. You'll just have to redo them for each match.

How many players do you set to covering?

Ok you got me, usually only one, the DM in my 3-1-3-2-1 formation. But I found that the formations and tactics actually have some effect in WE9, so I change formation quite a bit depending on the formation of the other team.

I understand why man-2-man would reset, but covering is not dependent on the other team, and should remain as part of the formation, shouldn't it? Is it not like putting your RMF to attack in two directions only for them to go back no attack?

It does with me. When I change my formation to a similar one u have, I have it set up so my DM will have a covering role. To aid this, I have the attack arrows either side of him so when I attack, he will keep a similar position should the opposition attack. Give it a try :)

Covering is saved as its only purpose is to cover the the players who go on offensive runs (If there is more than 1 DM) and to protect the defence (ala Claude Makalele).

Are you sure it saves for you? It doesn't for me, on any version!

Yeah I use it like you, with arrows to the side, works well I find!
