Creating Classic Teams!!!

I'm thinking of creating 2 more Classic teams:
-- Classic Spain
-- Classic Portugal
as they are also great European teams.

What do U think?
Any suggestions for players & their stats?

Classic Spain would have to include a lot of their 1982 World Cup squad, and for Portugal 1966 - Eusebio is buyable in the PES shop.

UEFA are running a survey from Oct 2003-April 2004 to find the best 250 players in their 50 years: http://www.uefa.com/uefa/news/Kind=256/newsId=116464.html

The list of players only seems to exist in some Macromedia Flash format, otherwise I'd copy and paste them here.

Go to UEFA's home page and take the Golden Jubilee link on the right side of the page. I guess you could scan through it for the Spanish players.

For Stats, I'd say create the players using the Classic Italians to Base Copy from. Then tinker a little with appearance, preferred positions, and some abilities/skills up and down.

Classic Hungary from the 1950's? Classic Uraguay from the 1930's?

There's enough players for a Classic Real Madrid in the list - 26 in total:
http://www.realmadrid.com/web_realm...iales.jsp?idcomponente=3085&id_idiomacambio=2

The teams with licenced kits might make good subjects for Classic Club teams, like Inter and AC.

Back and to the left.
Spain and Portugal haven't really done anything to earn classic status. They have both had some good players over the years but always fail on the big stage.

You are right about that....Portugal didn't win anything and Spain also didn't win anything(I think!!!).....

But if everyone agrees...let's do a poll about you will be the best classic team to put on PES3 or created.

Portugal, Spain or Hungary

My vote...PORTUGAL, of course.:D

By the measure of winning tuornaments:

Uruguay
-- FIFA World Cup™ winners 1930, 1950
-- Olympic champions 1924, 1928
-- Copa America winners 1916, 1917, 1920, 1923, 1924, 1926, 1935, 1942, 1956, 1959, 1967, 1983, 1987, 1995

http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/02/en/t/t/p/uru.html

Spain:
Achievements:

-- 4th place 1950 FIFA World Cup Brazil
-- Quarter-final 1986 FIFA World Cup Mexico
-- Quarter-final 1994 FIFA World Cup USA
-- Champions UEFA European Championship Spain 1964
-- Runners-up UEFA European Championship France 1984
-- Runners-up Olympic Games 1920
-- Champion Olympic Games 1992
-- Runners-up Olympic Games 2000

Portugal:
-- 3rd 1966 FIFA World Cup™ England
-- 3rd UEFA European Championship France 1984
-- 3rd UEFA European Championship Belgium - The Netherlands 2000

Hungary were in two World Cup Finals, 1938 and 1954 at least.

This page has stars from previous tournaments: http://www.worldcup.isn.pl/en/legends.htm

Hungary are well represented in this list by the "Federation of Football History & Statistics" (www.iffhs.de/): http://www.iffhs.de/main/ranking/jahrhunderteuropa/?sprache=englisch

Spain in 82 underachieved. They hosted the tournament and yet lost to Northern Ireland and only just sneaked through the 1st group stage, eventually being knocked out in the 2nd group stage.
Good players include Victor Munoz, Hierro, Butragueno, Guardiola, and Michel. You could probably make a pretty decent squad if you have a look through the history books.
Not sure about Hungary, but agree that Uruguay have had some top quality players down the years.

Surprisingly I think, you could make a really good Classic Scotland squad, with the exception of perhaps a proper goalkeeper!
Dalglish, Law, Hansen, Nicol, Davie Cooper, Johnstone, Nicholas, McCoist, McStay etc. etc.

I can't find Spain's 1982 squad either!

Maybe the Spanish football association have deleted them from their history.

Does anyone have the old Pannini stickers books?

This person is charging £41 for a complete one, reckon they'd just scan in the pages??

I haven't compiled any players yet, though there were 9 Magyars in the list compiled by Federation of Football History and Stats.

I'll have a proper look through those lists at the w/end and see who we have, and where the gaps are.

I have read so incredible things in this forum...(like that spain hasn´t win anything) thanks Cellini to inform some ignorants about statics...Anyway Uruguay should be included in the classic teams instead of England for example...

and also why do you like to put the spanish squad of 1982? they were our worst generation of players!! WE despise them!! Finally, I see no point on putting Denmark, much better would be Hungary for example

Anyone made any classic kits ie Denmark, that one from 1986 which was half red, half red and white pinstripes. looked awful and great at the same time

Uraguay were successful in the 30's, thats too early for the majority of PES players to reconize any of their players or see them in action in my opinion and therefore making it pointless.
