In 2008 you simply created a team from any players you wanted and hoped you could afford the wage bill but in 09 when i create a custom team and try to swap the default players it will only allow me to use 1000 of credit to do so, after adding 2 or 3 players it is used up? What am i doing wrong.

You need to go to the 2 made up teams (PES United and WE Eleven(?) (I have changed the names, so I'm not 100% what they were. Delete all the players from the teams and add your own. Be sure to edit the number for them aswell if you want them to change.
When you go to 'To Top Menu' you get the option to save or not to. Select no and start a master league > Exhibition mode players, then select your team.
I'm not certain, but i think when you save your game in master league it also updates the edit data, so you may need to go back and put your players back in their original teams.

Thanks for the reply but do you really have to do all that just to sort it out?
So in master league options when it says create a custom master team it actually means 'Waste your time by creating a team in the edit functions and pretend they are a real team and select them!! that's balls, surely there is another way?? If this is the only way then the create custom team option should just be removed???

Well Whats so hard about starting of with a team equal to about The Potteries? Negotiation Periods are mid season (about 4 weeks) and after Season (about 8weeks) there's plenty of time there to get the team you want? and If you start in the Lower Division (2) you only have about 7 other teams to compete against, which means 14 games which really isn't a lot... I always start with a default players and bring them up to slowly get The players like Aguerro, Van Der Vaart, even Messi or Ronaldo. You'll feel much more pride in yourself if you start off crap, and progress to be one of, or the, best. I know it didn't answer your question but take it into consideration, why not?
