Crossing along the ground

Some questions regarding the hard low cross along the ground. I know the suggested way is to press the cross button ('B' is it?) thrice in quick succession once you're near the byline. What my problem is that when I do that the ball almost always goes behind the sender of the pass. I've drawn a diagram to explain:-

Now even if player B wasn't there, the ball would end up either right at C's feet or worse, behind him and that makes shooting difficult. Infact I've never seen a low cross like the one shown with the red arrow which ends up ahead of the crosser. Can this be done somehow? Manual crossing? I don't ever use manual crossing, but if it does help in these sort of passes then I might start learning. I've seen the AI opposition do it sometimes though so maybe it's possible.

when i cross, it only goes to player B if I manual cross and press too far back on the right stick.

maybe u should try a thru pass along the ground when your player is just a bit further back.

or dribble with A into the box and manual pass it backwards.

nice diagram btw

Off sublect, i've done a normal cross with A that actually went in off the far post.

As for your point, the crosses seem a bit odd this time out. I use Wright Phillips down the right for England and when you get into a decent position his crosses seem really weak, struggling to reach the man you want.

Same here. Infact double tapping the cross button has become pretty much useless.

I really need some tips for crossing. :(

I always tap B or O twice for a hard low cross and go for player C from the image above. Player c will have the best chance of headng into the net.

i used to always use double tap but ive stated using the quick cross and it seems to get to my man more often than with the other crosses.

as for the crosses along the ground, it only really works when your at the by-line. as soon as you get ther blast the ball in and hope lol

D-pad/joystick direction also has an effect on the cross. for example, when playing from right to left, pushing down on the directional button when crossing from the right wing (top of the screen) will put the ball to the far post. Up, near post. No direction will put it central.

If you have a tall striker who's good in the air, using R2/RT should perform a 'lofted' cross. Less power, but a good striken can often make the difference.
