When the thread was started, it was about PES 3 or possibly WE8, all the more recent posts are relating to PES 4 where it seems a lot easier to curl the ball.

Don't listen to that wednesday lad fella, he's bullshittin. They are all the same. I think stevieboy is upto something again. I remember once he got a load of people to say he had told them how to curl the ball when you can't, it's just luck.

I agree, like I said in my previous post, I scored a blinder with tons of curl on it, but all I pressed was shoot, nothing else.

Right Analog stick does work on PES4.....Its particulary effective running down the wing level with the penalty box.

you can actually curve the ball effectively by just using the shoot button and direction. i figure it depends on body shape at the time of shooting and having the ball properly under control. if u run straight at goal for example and you hold the direction slightly away from the direction you are going (left or right, depending on the desired effect) then you can get a helluva lot of controlled not random curl. i tried it on training for a while with raul and ended up being able to score 45 yarders depending on the goalie position on a fairly regular basis

I have tried the right analogue stick in training as well. Try that : Go straight down the goal (in the middle) press shot , keeping the left analogue stick/d-pad in the direction you are moving and pull the RIGHT analogue stick left or right (or diagonal). Sometimes it curls well where you direct it so it works :)

It does work! It also works for the free kick...Dont move the left analogue/d-pad when shooting. Use the right analogue stick.trust me ;)

I have now tried it probably 100 times. There is no difference and this is made blatently obvious when you try to do outside curl, because it almost always does inside curl if any at all. Holding a direction after shooting logically would do nothing anyway as spin is put on the ball the moment the players foot touches it, and only then. On freekicks it changes nothing apart from the direction of the shot. You must be deluding yourself.
