Defenders Leaving Position

Hi.. ive got a question. When im playing with juventus or Milan I noticced that some defenders like Stam, Thuram or Cannavaro.. specially the frist two...always abandom their position. (i play with a sweeper and i put them in that position) and goes after the ball and dont care that the opponent is far form their position and always leave spaces for the opponent to score.
I tried tu put them HIGH defensive arrow but nothing.
If someone could tell how can i solve this, ill appreacite

Seems to me that Stam is always near the half way line for some reason. He is really good at taking people on

I believe that the HIGH defence arrow makes the playeres more actively chase down the ball so that might make them leave their position more often. Try using the smaller arrows and see how it goes.

maybe because Stam's defense stat is high so he tend to be in a good postion to get loose balls....e.g. in Midfield

and if your SB's dont get beat then your CBS or stam will never leave his position. so make sure if u want stam playing on high defense then your SB'S dont get beat down the wing because CBS will help them.
