Defending against corner kicks

It just seems that everytime me and the computer are tied and the computer gets a corner kick during "stoppage time", they always successfully get a header into the goal. Could anyone give me any good hints on defending against corner kicks? thanks.

I also find this all you can really do is push the square button and hope to win the ball, dont repeatally keep pushing it try and time it !!!

Hold :triangle: to bring the keeper out to deal with most crosses.

No this will not work on all occasions because if the corner kick is out of the keepers catching range he will just follow the ball and the cpu will be left with an empty net, Just keep tapping :x: to head the ball and hit :circle: to clear.

Also, if you haven't already, man-mark their best forward with your best defender.

failing that, i'm sure the cpu will give a handball

Yes, you do need to be careful, but if you watch the flight of the ball carefully you can tell if the keeper can deal with it.
When I defend a corner I hold :triangle: before it's taken.
Obviously if it's taken short I release :triangle:
If it's crossed I watch the flight of the ball and decide (before it enters the penalty area) if the keeper can deal with it, if I decide he can deal with it I keep holding :triangle: otherwise I release :triangle: before he's ventured to far off his line and use a defender to head clear with :square:

I can't remember the last time i had a cornet kick go in agaisnt me.

To counter this i normaly hold down :R1: as soon as the corner cick is taken and repeatedly press :square: to header it away

nb. i remember reading on some forum that if you hold down :R1: you player scrable in front of the player where the ball is heading for

what bugs me is the way the CPU decides for you which defender you control when the corner comes over. Don't touch L1 and the player you control will flick to someone else. Arrgh!!

The Spikiest maracca
on the controller screen where you are choosing GK cursor on/off or whatever there is a little bar that allows you to hold :R1: all the way up to the top which means it will change to whatever player automatically, but if you hold :L1: all the way down to manual, you do it yourself. Also, if you press :L1: one more you can be just one player in "Fix" mode.
