Hi guys!

Im playing We7 and im very frustrated with the headers in the game. My friend takes the corner and i want to head it away i press the direction but instead my defenders head it to the middle so my friend can score, is there a way to get rid of those silly headers? Im pressing X button

Need help plz TNX!!!

Try using square to head the ball clear, and push the d-pad towards the opposition half.

Works for me...

hold the R2 before the ball comes to position ur player, can press R1+X/ [ ] to clear it,
i prefer X since it seems to cover more area by sacreficing the accuracy and power of the ball,
which i don't care, since i just need to header it away

Nope, this is a major error in the game. I've noticed it in PES3 as well. It has happened to me a number of times that when I try and head clear it (my player) heads straight back into the danger zone. The computer also does this sometimes (proving that their is a bug/fault with defending headers) gifting me some soft goals now and then. I know how to defend with headers since I've been playing ISS and PES for years. It doesnt surprise me. Konami always F**K something up. I remember in PES1 when keepers used to move way from the ball when holding down triangle, PES2 had numerous annoyances and now PES3 has this and the infamous stutter bug.

I'm beginning to get cynical and wonder if they do this purpose. It gives us even more a of a reason to keep buying the updates.

Dont get me wrong, loves PES3 though...

It's not a major fault by any means. I remember when WE7 came out, there was big hoopla about it (especially on evo-web). I thought it was quite annoying too, and as a first impression, quite a let-down. I've learnt to eradict it from my system, however, and I rarely come across it when I play now (same with the computer, who seems to learn with me).

For those of you having trouble with the headers, the problem is probably timing. Try waiting as late as possible before heading it so you have more chance of getting it where you want. You have to take into account that there will be certain times where a headed clearance is just not an option and the next best thing is to pass it to a nearby, open teamate who can boot it away.

I thought this wouldn't be a major issue in PES3 since heading was made easier but it seems I was wrong. One of Konami's main 'aims' for PES4 is to improve the headers, so, maybe, just maybe, we'll see an improvement next year.

I find the critical comments of both WE7 and PES3 quite comical - people moan that they can't dribble past players, can't head clear all the time, keepers fumble often...well this to me is more life like than ever before.

In real football, many times does the keeper spill the ball when diving for it at feet of defenders, misjudge crosses and punch clear rather than catching. This is a great feature. I used to hate FIFA games and earlier ISS series where a striker will hammer the ball towards the top corner from 10 yards, and the keeper would save it, keeping hold of the ball as if he had glue on his gloves - that was unrealistic, now it's more like the proper game !!

As for heading clear, since when do defenders always cleanly head the ball 3/4 back up the pitch. Screwing up headers is often the case. The fact that the CPU does it too is fantastic.

And in how many games are strikers skinning defenders ? Not many - it is usually beating the offside trap or great thru balls that do it !!

People demand handballs, it gets implemented and people moan. No pleasing some people.

I ve found some annoying things with We7 and Konami, the frist is the headers that we have discussed then some more stuff:

a) Creating teams or transfering players/created players is so complex why? Because konami is lazy. I mean i cannot insert a created player into a team. Me and my friends wanted to create 5 teams and copy zidane and so on to teams that we dont use, we were forced to move the players so all other teams are fucked up now. We can take out the mem card to get the original teams but i mean how hard is it for knoami?

b) Why cannt i create a league with my friends where we choose 5 teams and play home/ away? How hard can it be to config the game for that?Konami=Lazy again. I remember the old days when me and my friends played sensible soccer in a league beeing all the teams, playing home/away....

Dont get me wrong i love We7 - the best soccer game in the world...once u have played we the u will never respect ea's fifa..so i hope Konami can pull themselves together and make some small adjustments to the next game instead of beeing lazy....

In response to pazza I have to say that I agree with you about the realism aspect. However, I'm not moaning about dribbling past defenders (I for one thing they've got that right). I and others are talking about defensive headering and there is definitely a problem with it. It happens on numerous occasions when the ball is hovering in the air about 6 yards out on either the right or left side of the penealty area. Instead of heading away from the penalty area I am experiencing numerous instances of players heading the ball straight back into the danger zone (even though I'm pulling in the oppositie direction). This is so annoying (even more so in multiplyer mode). It's not realistic - it's a simple case of ineffective controls. I've never experienced it in any other PES. This, and the fact computer opponents cant attack (even on level 5) are my only gripes.
