Diagonal Play?!?

Do any of you here seem to play in diagonals??

You probably dont know what I mean so i'll get a quick sketch up for you.
Its Basically when playing across the pitch. If your attacking from right to left you hold up and left and pass, then down and left, pass, up and left, pass.... and you gradually see a pattern.

Its an effective way of playing IMO, so do any of you?

Sort of but i dont rely on it. I like to use my wingbacks to dribble and when i see my wingers on the map make a move, i execute a through ball (i tend to have fast wingers) but i do use this for certain teams (eg. Newcastle)

It depends. I usually start my attacking plays from the side backs, then I have two choices (at least), play forward to SMF or WG, or play to the middle and start a play from there usually from CMF or AMF.

That's pretty much my style of play summed up. I love quick, short passing football. I've started going wide more now coz I get closed down a lot against good players. But when it works, the "diagonal" football is the best. BEAUTIFUL!

Not really. Most of the time I tend to just move the ball quite straight up the wings. Maybe change the flank every now and then. Lately I've been starting to find my strikers in depth with long balls from deep inside my own half, usually with full-backs. I try and get the ball deep quite quickly when there's an opening and then kinda set up around the box and try to pick the holes to get into scoring areas or if there's room, try a long shot.

Isn't that style copied from the Mighty Ducks?

I use that a lot, I also like to play someone super-fast like Martins as a CF but a couple of 'taps' on edit position wider than a normal CF is set up, then I play long ground through balls down the line between full back and centre back.

Another way I exploit this kind of ball down the line straight to a CF is passing in a square. Say I have my RMF, I pass to my RB, then to my CB, then other CB, then LB, then hold through ball down and play it down the line. There's usually loads of space because the passing draws the opposition forward and generally towards your right side. The passing needs to be short and quick to keep drawing them out.

My football is always from the back forward, i tend to play out wide from my centre back, forward straight from my midfiled then back across from my SS in to the CF in a sort of 7 shape.

Saying that, recently after playing with brazil, bringing Roberto carlos or cafu forward to about the half way line, holding down /\ releasing a great long trough ball right in the channel, extremely successful. Try it.

Well, I don't have a fix playing style; I try to adapt to the team my opponent choses. But I notice myself doing quite often the 1-2 move, so the players keep always rising in the field, and also with the side MF's putting the ball into the opposite side of the pitch :D
I guess I kinda do play in Diagonal

I play the ball to my centre midfielders and then begin work from there, shifting the ball to and fro until the gap in the opposition defence opens up, I then slot the ball through the opening. If I get impatient I'll play the ball to my Support Striker, and open up the defence with some dribbling.

Then if I'm playing a guy, who's aptly named 'Big Si' I just drill them in from range as I know I can get seven goal in ten game minutes if needs be... he's is terrible.

one big tip if you play on much stars; if you can hold the ball in the midle (not on the sides) you are sure thjen you`ll win the game because the best way to danger the opponents goal is to play trough the middle and that`s allmost the best way of creating clear chances to score (no dribbles but fast combi`s)
