diving

Is there a way to dive in the game. It would make the game more realistic and also it would make the game fairer as it is almost impossible to win free kicks and penalties in my game

no, and would it make it relistic? IMO i belive it would make it chessy. games wouldnt be close shots, it would be who got the most dives given and scored. may Fifa mite take it up, but hopeful the really football experiance wount

Players dive all the time in professional football, Nuno Capucho, Robert Pires, Henrik Larsson, Ronaldo. It would therefore be more realistic.

My brother likes to run into the area, then turn back and into my chasing defender. He gets a good number of penalties that way. I think he's mainly dribbles with L1 and R1.

Or look for a mis-timed sliding tackle, where the players has missed the ball, then turn towards it and try to fall over.

Yeah I always found that pulling back into a tackle is an easy way to win a free-kick and get the opposition booked but be careful who you do it with as too many of these can see your player stretchered off before long.

fair piont, but really its just cheating, games woulnt be "o what a good shot" but " ha ha thats the 5th time ive got a penitly" yes it would be relistic (ish) but i dont think it would add any thing to th egame

I'd rather they fixed the 100 other more important bugs/improvements that the game needs

The day they put diving into PES is the day I stop buying it.

I'd love you to explain how it would make the game fairer. It's that kind of mentality that sums up everything that is wrong with football at the moment.

Diving would make it real, picture yourself loosing a game against your mate and you do a dive in the final seconds to get a penalty, need I say more?

i agree, if PES brought in diving, i'd probably go back to the Megadrive, or Duckhunt on the NES.

If they developed the referees characteristics, some could be more likely to award free-kicks/penalties; some give a yellow card for tackles from behind, others a yellow card.

I don't think a 'dive' move is a good idea (it was in FIFA 2000 I think), but certain legitimate moves might help you win free-kicks/penalties: like an R2 side-step into an opponent who's sprinting top-speed; or use the R2 move that jumps over sliding-tackles in the rest of the pitch might be used inside the area to leave a trailing leg instead (like Linekar did).

Of course, diving/simulation is itself a bookable offence these days. So some referees might interpret the moves which I suggested above, especially leaving a trailing leg, as bookable.

I'd imagine one difficulty for the game designers is that beginners with all the sliding tackles and mis-timed moves could end up never finishing a game with 11 players on the pitch. So referee's might have to be more lenient at 1* or 2*, and more hawkish at 5*.

there is plenty of diving in the game though from players like totti and radzinski who get knocked off the ball and fling themselves to the ground.

I suppose that is true mahone. Do you get annoyed when your player falls to the ground and an opponent dribbles past him while he lies on the ground, a player would always get up and attempt to tackle him if it was that close
