Dnas Network Error (-612)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THERE WAS NO RESPONSE FROM THE DNS SERVER. PLEASE CHECK YOUR NETWORK CONFIGURATION
This is wot i see wen i try to get online, i have got past the test connection so does this mean i have properly connected the ps2 too my p.c. Also for filling in the IP ADDRESS, NETMASK AND DEFAULT ROUTER when creating the network configurations i woz told to do the following,
1. Type ''cmd'' in the RUN bar on the start up menu of windows without the '' ''
2. Type in ''ipconfig/all'' without the '' ''
After doing this i am brung up with an information screen displaying the following.
Windows IP Configuration
IP ROUTING ENABLED . . . . . . . . .: NO
Modem
physical address . . . . . . . . .:
Dhcp Enabled . . . . . . . . .: yes
Auto configuration Enabled. . . . .: yes
IP Address . . . . . . . . .: ** ** *** ***
Subnet mask . . . . . . . . .: *** *** *** *
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . .: ** ** *** *
Dhcp Server . . . . . . . . .: ** ** ** ***#
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . .: ** ** ** **
** ** *** **
** ** *** **
Is this the information i use to fill in the IP ADDRESS, NETMASK AND DEFAULT ROUTER , is the IP address the modem IP address and what DNS Servers do i use coz u can see there is 3. Does the IP ROUTING ENABLED need to be switched on. When i get onto the DNAS AUTHENTICATION screen i get a pop up window on my p.c saying windows system error there is an IP address conflict with another system on the network. is this because my modem is still connected to my p.c.
I have a Motorola sb5100 Surfboard cable modem, it has an ethernet slot in the back and is connected to my p.c by a u.s.b cable my isp is Telewest blueyonder. At the moment i have a phone cable type thingy connected from my slimline to my modems ethernet slot. Do i have to disconnect my p.c from the modem aswell. There is alot of questions that i need answered can you please help !
