I can't believe some of the comments in this thread. What it boils down to is you can either adapt and be able to play to this style of game or you can't. I dislike Fifa because I can't adapt and play it's style of game. I'm not saying it's sh!t, I'm saying it's not for me.

I can't see any broken part of this game at all (recycled commentary aside), I can shoot, I can score, I can pass, my build up play is good, I can defend, I can slide tackle etc etc. This game is for me. On Fifa, I can't get used to the defending system at all, and I feel the players lack the intelligence to enable me to utilise my style of build up play. I can score, but I feel PES makes you appreciate more when you do score because it is more difficult.

I'm not slating those that have been harshly criticle of this game, just saying that if you feel the game is broken then the game isn't for you, which you already know. Not any real point to continue with the critisism and arguements.

As much as I despise internet trolls (see Micho and his thread) who are simply trying and bait people into arguments with their over-the-top criticism, I've never understood your perspective either when I've seen and read it. What's the point of a discussion forum if people shouldn't discuss the bad as well as the good?

So the GK play is just fine with you? Or how about the shooting, where it's total crapshoot where the ball goes in relation to where you aim?

I've not seen any problem with the GK's, and I can shoot perfectly fine. You can't expect to get a shot on target with every shot you take with whatever player. Stats, the player, positioning, which foot, power & placement are all relevant. By that same token, you can't expect the keepers to save everything. I had someone score a freekick against me last night and was baffled as to how the keeper didn't get to it. After watching the replay I could see that he got hands to it, but the speed and curve of the ball allowed to be pushed in. That's not bad keeping, that's football.

On every PES site on the net, there is thread after thread after thread about the completely, totally, screwed up GK programming this year. You can argue all you want about the shooting -- which many are saying doesn't work either -- but to sit there and defend the badly programmed GK play is just being untruthful. Defend the better aspects of the game all you like, but c'mon... when some part of the game is OBVIOUSLY broken or near-broken like that, at least have the honesty to admit it.

I am being honest. I'm still to see any problem with the GK's. Until I do I can't say otherwise. I have no reason to lie, I'm not a fanboy of any game except football itself. I always go with the game I am able to get to grips with the most.

The shooting arguement comes down to my belief that you can either do it or you can't.

I can honestly say that has not happened to me. Was it David De Gea in goal by any chance? :)

Seriously I've not experienced anything like that (thankfully). Now I can see what you are saying. Is it a frequent problem or just something that happens every now and again? I've played a ton of games and not seen anything closely like that.

I know some 360 users are experiencing the stutter glitch. I myself have not had this problem either. Maybe I've been lucky and purchased a glitch free copy.

Ha-ha! Pretty much my first thought when I saw that as well. Even made a De Gea comment on another forum after seeing a different GK blunder vid.

I'm not ragging on the game. I appreciate PES for what it is, and generally it's a great game. But IMO, they've badly screwed up this year in a least 3-4 areas. That vid to me shows their GK situational AI is all haywire. They have the GK doing a PK-style dive on a shot from 30-40 yards out. That's broken AI.

2K has had the same problem with their baseball games. They'd have a guy running toward a base. But instead of reaching the base and turning toward the next base, he'd turn halfway there, and end up running off in the wrong direction. The wrong AI coding kicks in at the wrong time. And I blame it on Konami changing (dumbing down) their ratings system, and removing player ratings from the game that affect both shooting and GK play.

Steve, here's PES 2012's broken GK play in all its glory:

So do you say the GK diving the completely wrong direction with a shot taken from 40 yards out is natural and just "bad goalkeeping"?

I could inject real-life szczesny youtube misses just like the PES one above and in fact posted one on a much older thread. It happens in real life. GK mis played the shot in the above youtube more than diving in the wrong direction

on shooting - I seem to be placing shots just fine, other than aiming right and missing far right but that is to be expected.

Well, the fact that he did dive in the completely wrong direction is the the first clue. The second clue is he's doing a PK-style emergency dive (again, in the completely wrong direction) on a shot taken from far out, after having plenty of time to judge the pace and direction.

A 3rd grade kid playing GK in a Saturday morning Tykes league MIGHT be excused if s/he screwed up that bad while playing goal. But even they would be yanked from the position next game and stuck somewhere else on the pitch where they wouldn't have the potential to hurt the team like that, ever again.

The GK programming is broken. This video shows that. Anyone trying to pass it off as "normal, just like real life" and making excuses for it, is being intentionally dishonest and disingenious, bottomline.

Guys, PES 2012 is the best PES version KONAMI has EVER made. Yes, it's hard to get used to a new system, yes, there might be some minor mistakes. But listen, PES is on the right way, again. If KONAMI keep improving this version PES could takeover FIFA again, which I have to say is horrific this year. Maybe PES players move like robots, but for god's sake, in FIFA there is only one F**king way of playing, long balls, and that pisses me off unbelievably because I play the entire match keeping possession trying to create chances, then when I have a shot, the goalie saves it and they just score a goal from running down the flanks and crossing the ball in the box.

Ha-ha! You just perfectly described the last 8 years of my FIFA-playing experiences. And I thought I was the only one.

Lol me to. Years of watching people run down wing and cross. in my opinion (And it don't count for much) Saying FIFA is better than PES is like saying IF MY AUNTY HAD A COCK SHED BE MI UNCLE!

Shooting in pes 12is not half as bad as people are saying. Seriously, learn to use the r2 and the directions. When using the r2, the direction has to be close to a 90 degree for the placing to take full effect, then right before the player makes contact with the ball, press r2.

As for the power shooting. That needs some improvement in the direction especially. But overall, it's not nearly as bad as some are making it. HOWEVER PES' SHOOTING NEEDS MORE USER INPUT, MIXED WITH PLAYER INDIVIDUALITY. :)

BTW, as I stated before. Pes 12 had GREAT ideas, but the execution of some of them was off, thus making these little annoying things, extremely annoying. But when you see the bigger picture, it is better than pes 11. At least, it has more goal variation, HARDER DIFFICULTY, much better placed shots, much better AI and overall, a much more flowing game.

Yes it does have those moments like the close control being too close and the standing tackles that need to be better in order to balance the game even more, but in my view, the good side outshines the bad one.

^ I'm starting to wonder if the shooting problem is systematic to only one console. have we determined that yet? I use PS3 and feel like I place shots accurately. Much unlike the famed bad shoot youtube video, with a right to left cam, if I am moving up the screen and keep my stick up and shoot my shot goes to the far post (or beyond). If I redirect the L stick downwards I place the shot near post. No problems. Maybe Xbox or PC users are suffering differently.

I agree!

Dribbling:
''I feel like playing against 11 Messi. Every player is able to dribble 10 defenders and score... Dribbling is so ridiculously bugged and there is no way to stop it.''

Man... I agree with you when you say this part.

Konami improved the game, a lot!

However... they exaggerated a bit. When I play PES 12 I feel the same thing you do. No matter what I do, sometimes is impossible to stop the player coming towards my defense. Ok, if it was Messi, C.Ronaldo, Robben.. it's ok. They are really good!... But even a player with overall of 69..74... makes a mess in my defense. Come on! This is not realism, at all!!!!.....

Well... I hope I'll learn it... afterall, i've just bought the game.
