PES hasn't been a popular game for some time, mainly due to EA's marketing power and licences. The licences are a big factor for a lot people (mainly the younger generation) rather than gameplay. I have enjoyed some Fifa games (10 for example was up there with PES 5), but PES 2011 and this years have been better than Fifa's counterparts (imo).

Yes the poll maybe biased considering this is a PES fansite, but surely the fact that this site is rife with visitors (not to mention the amount of people who have posted in the OF thread. If those people don't like the game, they wouldn't go through the rigmoral of uploading the OF) adds to the fact it still has a strong fan base, and that the members of this site actually enjoy the game and think it's good (for the most part).

To say that that FIFA is more popular because of marketing is only half true. All of my friends, none of whom are the children of which u think are FIFA's fanbase, prefer FIFA. However 5 years ago they preferred PES. If PES was the game u say it is, it'd be more popular, regardless of its competitor.

I'm not sure what u mean by 'OF thread', but u can't gauge the popularity of this game by the number of people who register here. It takes no great effort to join this site, 30 seconds at the most, and I've seen many threads where people have joined to say they don't like the game. I'm a PES fan for at least ten years, but i absolutely detest the game now. Your logic is flawed. PES obviously does have a strong fanbase, but the majority of those either don't like FIFA or are clinging to the hope PES will be the game it once was. Not one of you can say it's a better game now than it was 6 or 7 years ago.

Like i said, the fact that we're even discussing this issue shows speaks volumes about the quality of the game. I doubt they're having the same discussion on a FIFA 12 fansite.

People on here might say FIFA lacks a soul, but PES lacks a soul, a heart and a brain. FIFA might not be much better, but at least it looks good and attempts to improve each year. KONAMI are like absentee fathers, no idea whats wrong with their creation and not able, or not wanting to, fix those problems. The game feels like mario or sonic or any other platform arcade games. Full of glitches, in which people play to exploit those glitches. (ie running to the byline constantly and crossing) There's no freedom in the gameplay. Football games just haven't transferred well onto next gen consoles. A book on how bad this game is would the only thing in the world more boring and uninteresting as this game.

Agreed. Exploiting the glitches is exactly it. That's all you can do, it's horrendously dire.

I don't like FIFA in the slightest, but at least I can console myself with the official licensing and the knowledge that they are actually improving their product. How Konami think they are making PES better is absolutely beyond me. They couldn't have butchered the original series anymore! It must be deliberate..

I wasn't referring to the number of members, I'm referring to the number of visitors. The OF thread is the Option File thread, where you can download the option file that inputs the licened teams/kits/leagues etc.

You could also say that the people who love this game (and I know quite a few) are not posting here because they are busy enjoying the game. You come here to vent your frustrations at the game, most people do that in all walks of life and scenarios. The people who enjoy the game won't always post that they do because it's not a common human trait. People will always express anger more than enjoyment. That's human nature.

And what makes you think it's kids voting in that poll? You've come across more childlike in you "this is my thread I'll post whatever" arguement and your "I hate this game I'm going to tell people over and over again" than anyone who has come here to support it.

You and the other "haterz" are quite tiresome. If you don't like it, don't play it and move on. Anything else you type is just pointless trolling.

Indeed, but when the game so unbearbly tiresome and shockingly flawed then no option file on the net will make the experience more enjoyable.

I've never purchased a new FIFA game since '99, but I'd rather "enjoy" a slicked-out, visually-polished FIFA '12 than the utter horseshit being served to us by Konami, masquerading as Pes,,

The licensing will be a consolation. However, no amount of licensing could improve this current pes. It's diabolical

Me too! I'm trying so hard to enjoy this. I want to...but it's impossible! The flaws are "tear your hair out" annoying and, when I compare it to older PES titles, I can't help but think the entire Konami development team must have been replaced with brain damaged chimps..

Think the franchise is truly on it's last legs after this installment..

It's pretty funny actually. I really want to love this game. I'd even settle for like...But I realize to do that I'd need to turn off my brain; which is exactly the opposite of why I want to play football games in the first place.

Instead of thinking things like, "I need to move my guy over here so he has to play that ball at a different angle", .....

I have to think things like, "What button do I hold to make my guy stand in the passing lane?".... (and he stands in the automatic/scripted passing lane that konami has predetermined)

Instead of thinking things like, "what angle do I need to stand to make the opponents service as difficult as possible?"......

I have to think things like, "What is the button that you hold down to make my player auto-track onto the opponent like a homing missile and auto-blocking the ball for me?"....(Because like everything else, crossing is automated so naturally the defending is too!)

I feel that when you take away all the freedom (which is what brought me to the series so many years ago), it just takes a lot of the beauty out of the beautiful game....

Just a very unrewarding experience.

You're making no vaild points. I'm not trolling, i'm expressing my point of view, (i joined this site originally as a fan.) However you don't seem to want to hear anything negative about a negative atrocious game. It's like i'm telling u there's no santa claus and u choose to believe there is anyway.

next year i will wait 1 month to see the reaction after the release... if pes 2013 has got any major bugs or flaws i will not buy it... i will rather crack the hell out of it just for the fun of it... as long as the online play is disgusting... all in all its a disgusting game but i would like to crack and help distribute it for free for everybody maybe i would feel less frustrated after the disappointments until now... and regarding fifa... last fifa i played was i guess 2005... even the cracked version i never played... not interested, but i could really compare the level of konami in 2011 and 2012 to the level of fifa... ball and player are one entity, no freedom, game plays for you while you jerk off

I've listened to the negative, I've seen the negative and I accept that others don't like it. What you've failed to notice in my previous posts is that I've not EXPERIENCED any of this negative. What I've seen are from youtube links that others have experienced, and until I do experience this negativity, I can only enjoy the game.

So on the flip side, you don't seem to want to hear anything positive about a positive enjoyable game.

You don't like it, fine, that's a shame. I do like it, accept it.
