Never heard this before. It is cheating but if this happens I might try it if I am playing a strong opponent who is winning.

I don't think it gives them money, but what it does do is screw your result. So if you're winning way more than 3-0 you'll just have a 3-0 win recorded. It can sort of influence your goaldifference in a tournament, perhaps it even protects theirs (ie they lose 3-0 instead of 8-0)

the results just show as a 3:0 win for me, but the thing about it is most of this actually happens in quick games, so i dont know why people do it

do they do it at the start of the game?

If so they may be doing it to earn money quickly. Spend a couple minutes in game instead of 20.

I don't know what they fixed about it, I thought they fixed it so it wasn't considered a draw, I'm not sure.
