Does Anybody Else Hate How The Computer Cheats?!

Yes, PES AI cheats and it always has done. It cheats in both multiplayer and single player modes favouring one team over the other most of the time. In PES1 + 3, it was excusable as other areas of the games were balanced enough for the scripting not to stick out like a total sore thumb. In PES5, the AI was so defensively biased that often the only way to get a ‘good’ goal would be to have the AI ‘scripting’ in your favour. This forced everyone in PES5 to exploit the AI just as relentlessly as gamers exploited the PES4 cut-back and lob-shots. (How I laugh when I read posts stating that PES4 was the best PES..really tough etc etc…). With PES6, cheating AI was EVERYTHING. In their bid to make the game more ‘exciting’, Konami thought it would be a good idea to take a large proportion of the control of the matches destiny, away from the gamers, and into the hands of the cheating AI which would churn out exciting Roy of the Rovers ‘scripts’ for gamers to play out. Of course, most gamers were still too thick to even realise it. With PES2008, the scripting is not quite as bad as it was in PES6, but when combined with the gross AI imbalances and deficiencies, it makes the game completely intolerable to any discerning gamer. The result; gamers are turning away from PES in their droves. This fact can be confirmed by monitoring the various PES forum activity across the internet. Despite PES2008 selling more copies than any other title, the forums are all dead and nobody is playing it. Hopefully Konami will realise that they are on the verge of losing a huge chunk of their fanbase and will ensure that PES200X is something special.

Yeah, every PES version I have played always had AI cheats.

By the way, Wich one was the best PES in your opinion??

lol all that you said is so true, really gets under my skin it does, when you said when the "computer decides to score" I shouted "too fuckin right!"

It is very very annoying, when I'm on top player I expect to be challenged in the right way, which alot of the time I am, but this sort of thing happens way too often.

How about this, have you ever done a swap flank pass say one full back to another, perfectly placed ball but then the ball bounces over the full bck for a throw in? So gay!

It's worse when Tal Ben Haim wins a header against Luca Toni...please define that as a possibility.

Lol yeah the free kicks, I understand when it is say Juninho or Ronaldo, but with me it seems to be lesser takers, Shevchenko scored a 30 yard bender against me for the ukraine, and when Sheva takes free kicks he drills them he dont curl them. When my cousin played the south american selection, Julio Cesar scored one against him! A GOALKEEPER! lmao ridiculious, if it was Chilavert I would've understood but come on...Julio Cesar?

You obvioulsy have not played the game at my 'level'.

I was playing and in Edinburgh ProEv Guild and competing against thee very best gamers in the country......Nothing to bam off about...just saying that I KNOW how to play the game.

Mark Gardiner.....PLAY 50K Winner....sez the game is utter gash...(even though he has just won a fortune palying it)

Like I said, discerning gamers are turning away from the game in droves for the aforementioned reasons in my post above. But fanboys who are too dumb to see through some very cheap and faulty AI still seem to quite enjoy the game.....

Or maybe some gamers just like tacky arcade action......each to their own eh?

Pro Evo has been cheating since its inception but is by far the best in the series. The only one that comes close is pes6 on ps2/pc (xbox 360 vers was horrible...) My beef isn't with this particular game just pro evo in general.

I'd LOVE the AI to cheat on mine. I'm bloody sick of my ML at the moment - 2 seasons without even drawing is incredibly boring! If the Com cheated they might have a chance.

As for the scripting, can't say I've noticed it.

Only cheating is erm... well the Com is very good at free kicks on PES2008 Top Player, which makes a change from every other one, where I am sure I've never conceded from a free kick.

Sorry to erm... not agree with the conspirationalists, but I do have some advice for them - you're probably watching the demo.

Also, I read somewhere that you cannot score good goals on PES5, which is unrefined rubbish, it was incredibly easy, the problem with PES is that too many goals are good.
