Yes. i have played it again in my new master league after calming down, and yet again it has pissed me off to no end.

Have have just battered Benfica 4-1 who are my main rivals, so form is good etc.

Then i have to play PES United who have 8 points to my 22. Straight from the Kick off i knew i had no chance and i was proved right. I lost 1-0 with 56% possesion and 0 yes ZERO shots compared to their fucking 12. Its having and efin Joke with me surely. And to top it off it was a fluke of a goal as it bounced off my keeper and back out to their player who completely miss hit it , ony for it to lob up and into the net. WAT A JOKE.

Dont get me wrong i love this game but why the fuck does it do this???

i think the problem is this: we all play this game since 2 years or longer, i mean i guess it is impossible to create a sports-sim with such a lasting appeal. they did a fine simulation, but at one end the "AI" can't catch up anymore. i mean what happens in PES3 is subtle and does not take away the joy from the game. however i would prefer to have the challange by playing with worse squads than by this "divine interventions". that's why this game needs more teams! the teams in the game, except for the national squads, are simply too good. i want italian teams like ancona or even serie B teams to challange the CPU on 3-star, because this is the highest skill level on which i don't see the CPU helping itself.

Had another game cheated by the cpu...leading 1-0 six minutes till end arsenal vs udinese 5* they score 1-1. 2nd extra time i have 4good shots at goal ..each one only a "gordon banks" could make the save.there striker makes a shot at goal...lehman blocks the shot..and deflects right into the other corner of the only unmarked udinese player for a easy tap in...1min from going into penalties.

PES3 is as rigged as a fruit machine. I don't mind losing or winning 10 - 0 as long as it is fair and allows the buttons to continue to be responsive. The difficulty settings should state whether I win or not. If it is too easy it is'nt much fun and I have the option to make it more difficult myself.

Unfortunately this CPU cheating is necessary otherwise the game would be too easy, even on 5*. It must be incredibly difficult to program the CPU to make it play as well as an expert human player

I often am the victim - usually when playing against a really mediocre team like Everton or Auxerre they score with their one attack of the game, with my 3 spare defenders for some reason neglecting to mark the one attacker. Very frustrating, but it makes it incredibly satisfying when you do eventually win Div1!

I don't know, surely with a record of match stats that a team has got while playing that season in the Master League could/should set the benchmark for the teams controlled by the COM opponent.

If your seasons possession/passing/shooting averages are at a particular level, the COM should be able to play at a similar level + or - 3%. So, if your averages start soaring, the COM tightens up in defence, becomes more clinical and deadly in possession/attack.

The game does seem to punish replaying ML games from a save, that's when I often see the last minute equalizer from the COM's one attack in the second half, but then they are on all out attack at that point, so I feel gutted rather than cheated.

The standard of the COM seems to jump in the second ML season in Div.1 (Season 3 if you gained immedieate promotion from Div.2), and maybe it does again in Season 5, but I don't know. I've already built a super-ML team in 4 seasons and gone back to start another one along different lines.

I've noticed that the COM standard seems to improve a lot as the seasons go on. I was stuck in Div 2 for 17 seasons in my first attempt at 5* and could not get promoted despite assembling an awesome squad. Then I restarted after going bankrupt and found it much easier, despite playing with the default players and a few youths!

yes, the thing with season 3 is true. i won the league instantly after promotion on 4star level. needless to say my team in the 3rd season is much better, since i had loads of points to spend. however i notice that my players sometimes just don't follow the input or in the worst cases need 2 seconds to stop a ball. shot blocking also increases drammatically (look at some replays, 50% they use the arms; very often it just bounces off "air", defenders seem to have huge hit-boxes under these condtions).
another ridiculous thing: i offered for killy gonzales 2000 points and 200 salary points over the requests (free-agent), and twice he refused. WTF???
i have to say this is a major flaw, and i don't enjoy the game in master league mode as time goes by. it is much better to start again, since then at least your guys respond as they should and miracles for the CPU happen far less often.

Yes, I'd agree this was a bit sad! I was so close every season and became completely obsessed with beating the wretched COM. Still, it made success all the sweeter when it did (eventually) arrive!

Yes you're absolutely right. When I was the leader of the second division of ML I had to play with this very average team PES United. I never lost with them, what's even stranger I always win with with them by 2 or 3 goals. It was almost the last match in the league and from the beginning I just couldn't get out of my half. When I created the first oppurtunity it was 2-0 so I had a little chance of drawing it. So I was fouled in the penalty box and my best player's (Dunant with almost all abilities raised to 99) shot was blocked by the keeper and the ball went to Doni who had a clear goal with noone even close to him. And he missed.... Those matches are just incredibly annoying. I think i don't have to say that I haven't won the second division but luckily I advanced to the first league from the second place. This strange disability is even stranger because I always considered myself as a good player and in PES2 I just couldn't lose. I don't want to talk big about myself but in PES2 I had a record of over 90 consecutive wins and I managed to score 92 goals with one player in ONE season:).

PES3 has again just cheared the shit out of me. I have just absolutely dominated a game and lost 1-0 to a bull shit penalty and then missed sitter after sitter. i will post a replay tommorrow and u will c what i mean
