Does PS2 version stand up to next-gen?

I've played it. It definitely feels better than the last game and actually looks like a new game, rather than just a few tweaks being made in last year's. The speed of getting from one end of the pitch to the other is not as fast, crosses seem more realistic and rewarding, players don't turn at 100 mph and just sprint towards goal, Champions League is a very welcomed addition (not too bothered about Europa League). Would've liked to see more effort made with players appearances. Some of them have been recycled from games years ago (Ricardo Fuller doesn't have dreadlocks anymore!).

aye that sounds promising. ill get it on pc but always pick up the ps2 version when it gets cheaper

I got it for just under 18 quid at ShopTo.
I got the PS2 version, its the best version since 06 by far. Absolutely love the Champions League mode. Its better than the 360 version ive played in my opinion, and easily better than FIFA 10 on the PS2
The only let down is no Europa League, and the non inclusion of the 18 blank teams, also if the Champions League license is part of the game, surely it wouldnt have been hard to include this years proper teams, the likes of Kazan, CSKA, Debreceni and the 3 german sides instead of far too many Swedish clubs and the likes of Sivasspor
