The last two seasons I started skipping a lot to get through years quicker. We still won all the trophies and I was leading scorer for everything, but I was not offered a new contract with my team each time. The first year I got no offers from any team of quality at all. Is this the randomness of this mode or does skipping games count against you?

You have to keep in mind that when you skip a lot of games, your statistics will improve more slowly. I think this could be a factor that also determines what kind of offers you receive.
