Its on sale early right enough. I got it at GAME. They said they put it out early 'cos GameStation had done it.

how many readers voted though. only a few yet i think. so it could be two or three people who like it. also maybe these people havent got far enough to make a good assumptions.

anyway i just been to game and they have got driv3r on the xbox on sale.

I think its a game where personal preference is the only determinant on weather to buy it or not.

i agree, just because one or two editors of a magazine have written it off, doesnt mean you wont like it.

try it at a mates if possible, or rent it, or buy it and take it back if youre not happy, whatever but dont rule it out over that..

looks brilliant, i am currently playing splinter cell pandora tomorrow but as soon as im finished i will be buying this for sure! will have to put a few more hours in on splinter cell first though, not really played it a lot because of the footy...

Every review I've read says its full of glitches, does anyone who has the game find this too?

Ive had the game for a couple of days and i think its very good. I'd probably give it about 8.5/10. Its not as good as Vice City, but Driver3 has stolen alot of its good points. And Vice City has set a very high standard, so people are maybe being a bit harsh on Driver3 with their reviews. Theres loads of cars, bikes and speedboats to hoss about in, the cities are more complex and detailed than the old driver games. Infact, the city of Nice in the game has hardly any straight roads, so its not a boring grid-network as before.

The only slight downside is the free-roam mode. The control system is not as natural as Vice City, and aiming your gun can be a bit awkward, but its certainly not a bad effort. I haven't noticed any glitches as yet, but so far i've only touched the surface of the game.

To anyone who is undecided, i would say give it a go.

Yup, Jamez prooves my theory by confirming that it is a game of personal preference. I havent progressed much as I am addicted to the free roam mode! Its the best part. One think I dont like is that when the cops are on to you, you cant change cars and loose your felony like Driver 2. Well you can change cars! Thats my only displeasure.

I think the game's great, even though I haven't spent that much time on it (will do this weekend).

As has been said already, you should definately try it out rather than going by a magazine/internet review. The best judge is yourself.

Yeah, quite agree. Takes away the enjoyment to a certain extent, as you can never really get away, and end up getting mashed up.

I would give it 7/10. I havent played it too much yet but I have enjoyed what I have seen of it so far.

I'm sure i read in the manual that there is an auto-aim option, but i've only flicked through it as haven't had alot of time to play the game seriously.

I also agree with those who dont like the fact that you cant lose your felony rating with change of vehicle. In general i find Driver3 the trickiest yet as the cops can be bastards to shake off - its nearly impossible sometimes.

True. You either shake them off and then even pressing the accelator duffs up your car, or you run into a lampost! You cant win!

Another thing is if you are chasing someone and you catch them, your car slows down! I think its the best game to be relased this yr behind WE7:IJ.

The same thing happens when the cops are chasing you. Even if you are in a supercar, the cops seem to be able to catch you. And if you are driving a really slow van or truck they only seem to match your speed, even though they can easily blast past you and cut in front. I'm not moaning really as this was exactly the same in Driver 1 and 2, so i'm used to it.

Its still one of the best games of the year.

i think its a good game the storyline is interesting, the game is like an interactive movie really, plus it feels alot more REAL than gta.

th driving is flawless, pulling a handbrake turn at high speed is brilliant, and the shooting is ok i suppose.

the thing that annoys me is they could have made this game soooooooooo much better than they did. its full of glitches when there should be none, and should have been made much longer.

overall i think gta is far better- and gts sa will make everyone forget about driv3r

Just got the game recently and I like it. The Undercover mode is great but the game dosnt have as much depth as GTA.
However the plot of the game is better than GTAs which is kind of boring.
Anyways, it shul keep me busy for a few weeks.
