For those of you wanting Fifa 07 for the 360, just remember that 360 is screwing 360 owners. You only get The top leagues and a few of the top stadiums, if you want all the leagues etc you have to pay additional money for them on the Xbox Live Marketplace, so all 360 owners who are not just fans of Premiership, Budesliga, Seria A, Eriedivision and Spanish Premier, Beware, it will be a few quid to get another league, another few quid for each stadium. EA are once again, screwing the general public or at least 360 owners :\

u cant download leagues and stadiums.(any proof?) and iam more than happy with the leagues as i support MAN UTD and i hardly played as any other team or league when i rented it on PS2

and FIFA will have a new gameplay engine which is the reason for lack of leagues, which is fine by me

yeah they're rippin people off with all that online purchase of leagues and items and other stuff. they are giving us just a part of the game for the same price. the only thing that we should purchase online should be roster updates IMO.

Yea, there aren't a lot of leagues in Pro Evo, but wait a min, International League, u can make watever league you want, and Master league thats enough for anyone, and i'm not rong bout 360 cos i work in a games tester office, testing for EA SPORTS, Eidos and Capcom so i get insider info why shud PS2, Xbox and Pc get every league and stadium but the Xbox 360 does not. My friend who was gonna get Fifa this year, has now converted to Pro Evo 6 as he has a 360 and dnt wanna pay a charge just to play the SPL etc

I don't know... i would probably pay for more leagues if they came out for PES. But EA are money grabbing bastards so it doesn't surprise me thay have gone down this route.

The apparent point in which EA surpass Konami is marketing. To me and I think to most of PES fans, it makes no difference since we completely know PES and its realistic but this may bother us (the lack of advertising & marketing).
The problem mainly will be faced by people who want to choose between both games or who want to have a complete idea about the game...........

The point is that current gen owners get all the leagues that FIFA promise. If you buy Pro Ev 6 on PS2, you get the same leagues and teams as you would on the 360.

And bare in mind that the price is at least £10 dearer here in Britain for a 360 game compared to all other consoles. What EA are doing is false advertising. Something like this should be explicitly explained to prospective buyers on the box.

Also, Pro Ev has been sold on the basis of its far superior gameplay and realism, whereas FIFA, since Konami started serving them, where all about presentation and the number of teams they could cram onto the disc.

It also links in with EA's recent announcement to add advertising into Need For Speed Carbon. They want as much money as possible because their games are beginning to falter under competition. For the past 5 years, Pro Ev has gradually replaced FIFA as the go-to soccer sim. Up until a couple of years ago, the 2K American football games were outdoing the Madden series (until Dreamcast failed, RIP).

Your point is certainly valid, Pro Ev have far fewer leagues than FIFA and far fewer (licensed) teams. However, it has never been one of the staples in the game.

Konami are a massive company. They have produced the MGS series which wrote the 1st Edition of stealth gaming (since rewritten by Ubisoft, but still). EA don't even bat an eyelid at paying through the nose for mass licensing. But personally, I would take editing the strips by hand of every team over automatic licensing simply because the gameplay Konami provide is a world above FIFA. Every FIFA since FIFA '01 has gotten progressively worse (FIFA 06 was the worst football game I have ever played, far worse than Codemasters' Club Football series) and while FIFA 07 is remarkably better, it's gameplay is akin to Pro Ev/Pro Ev 2. Only now have the humbugs at EA realised individual ball physics as opposed to player animation physics. It isn't a shite game, but it's far worse than Pro Ev 3, which is now 3 years old.

EA can have their marketing, presentation and superior commentary, all of these things are really peripheral when it comes to the game itself.
