Anyone out there from the Edinburgh area reckon they are a bit hot on the old pro evo soccer? If so...


A PES4 PS2 tournament will be taking place at 1pm-6pm April 17th @ Argyle Bar, Warrender Park Road, Edinburgh. (Just round corner from the Pallas Athene (Edinburgh League venue).

The rules of the tournament shall be as follows:
£5 entry fee.

Either ‘Winner Takes All Cash Prize’ or corresponding prizes for 1st, 2nd, and possibly 3rd place.

Tournament shall take Champions league format with ‘round robin’ league phases followed by knock outs and Grand Final. The precise size and structure of the tournament shall be determined by the volume of participants and any time restrictions imposed on us by the management of the venue.

Each group shall consist of either 4-5 teams all of whom shall play each other twice, one game counting as HOME, the other counting as AWAY. Players can select any team they like be it club, international, or classic era teams.

In the group phases, the Home team shall decide upon the camera view and stadia settings etc. All games shall be played on 50Hz with commentary OFF in order to minimise slowdown. In the knock-out phases, View settings shall be either agreed upon by the players to play one half each with their preferred view.

All games will be played with standard option file with Classic Era Teams and 6* skill level unlocked. Memory cards shall be allowed to load formations.

Oh..form arrows will have to be maxed out of course.....

I would actually prefer to do an individual league on each PS2 set-up with variable 'form arrows' and limit duplicate teams ..i.e everyone being Real Madrid or France Sucks IMO....

But got to go with what will appeal to most people.

So maxed out free-for-all it is!

me and my mates might come from glasgow, and also get wrecked in edinburgh for the wkend or sumfin, it would be good to try out a wee tourny

btw...the 17th is Sunday......whether going out and getting wrecked in Edinburgh on a Sunday appeals to you or not I dont know.

Aye....I have noticed that for some reason. I have also tested the Email address out by sending Emails to it and sometimes the Email simply vanishes without a trace into cyber space.......

If anyone has tried Emailing and I aint replied it is cos I didn't get your Email....

Leave a message hear instead and I will keep an eye out.

If you have expressed an interest in this tourney or indeed you are interested please could you contact [email protected] (asap) cos this weekend I am wanting to get a list together of people who are at least 95% certain they can make it. Also, we cannot set-up anymore than 8 PS2's so we cant really have any more than 32 competitors (which would be £120 winner, £20 Runner Up, £10 3rd place and £10 bar tip)
