Swedes on a high despite conceeding late equaliser!
Italy and Sweden have drawn their group match much to the delight of their manager -=[101st]=-. They are now the favourites to go through in 2nd place after the danes could not even match the Italians in their group tie with them. The danes conceeded 4 goals to the italians and now they require a victory against the Swedes to stay in contention for the next round. When we asked -=[101st]=- for his reaction to the game, he had this to say.
"Although we were looking good to take all 3 points, we are happy with a draw against this kind of opposition. They are odds on favourites to be in the final with france, and they were unable to beat us. I think our defense deserves a big wrap, as it is the basis of our squad. Our superb attack also managed to beat the italians defense, which is regarded by most as the best defense in the world, and it wasn't just any old goal either... it was one of the best goals in the tournament so far."
The Swedes have to be odds on favourites to go through, and we hope to get this confirmed by Elfinke, the Official EURO 2004 Bookie later on. When asked about how they will approach the Danish game, -=[101st]=- was typically confident and open about his tactics.
"Well although we can get through on a draw, we will not be sitting back and playing for one. This match is an old classic, and one that will contain high emotions, that will be stemming from a rivalry that goes back years. We want to send the Danes packing, and we don't want to go packing with the Danes. Because if we draw, and Bulgaria win, we are packing with the Danes. We are confident that we can out socre them, and that is what we will be aiming to do. With Larsson and Ljunberg in typically scintillating form, the goals will come there is no doubt about that, and let me give you a word of warning they will be goal of the tournament contendors... we have produced two in two games.. so why not three or even four in 3 games??"
Well, there you have it... Personally i cannot wait until we see this battle kick off, i advise that you don't miss it... and that you put a tape in, because this will be game that you will tell your grandkids about.
