Yeah. Yashin was first choice for me. Some of the others pick themselves; Beckenbauer has to be there somewhere. For me, Gento would be one of the other must-haves. Plus not many people remember him, so I guess he'd have an element of surprise

Oh yeah! Nobody said it was easy...would you really have Henry over, say Eusebio? Zidane is also fanfukin'tastic, but in an 11 I'd still have Cruyff. Nightmare to choose though!

No, a combination of things gives you the impression. Books, film etc. Fortunately footy has had saturation coverage in the media longer than almost any other sport.
Granted, I haven't seen Eusebio play in person, but I don't really see a difference in viewing a film from this years CL or something from the sixties. Sure, you take into account fitness levels then & now, the pace the game was/is played at - but Eusebio could only beat the players in front of him, just like Henry today.
There's a wealth of footy material from years gone by out there, but maybe you only care about the modern game? If so, fair enough, no offence meant!
