What about Leo Messi (Barca/Argentina) in the Rest of the World squad? Amazing player. Maradonna said he and Ronaldinho are the world's best players. Anyway, 22 man squads:

Maradona is showing his Argentine bias. Messi has not done enough to even be considered on the same level as the likes of Henry, Ronaldinho, Shevchenko, Kaka etc, or even the best youngsters like Rooney, Torres, Robinho, C.Ronaldo etc. He has amazing ability, but has a long way to go yet.
Also, I think the squads are usually consisting of 23 players, but I may be wrong.

Yeah, suppose he is, but I quite like Messi myself. He has a while to go, like you say, but the potential is there, something that in Pro Evo is fundamental.
Yep, again, you're right; 23 players but I was just picking two teams for each really... but, as I'm here:
23rd Euro: Xabi Alonso
23rd World: Crespo

Good point, his stats will probably be pretty good in PES5 with him being at a top club and after really impressing at the World Youth Championships.

Also, good choice picking Alonso, he's my favourite non-Arsenal player in England, very under-rated player, and think I recall his stats being quite under-rated on PES5 aswell, which is a shame as he's a terrific player.

If it was an all-out personal dream team, Alonso would be pretty close to the first XI. Just hope he's better this time (and they spell his name right).

I reckon these are the players that would fit into a current European XI and a World XI. But the problem is, Konami usually choose one player from each country for both teams. Which makes it close to impossible to choose players for each XI.

Usually those that make any Allstars teams are exactly that.. Allstars.. and as someone stated Messi hasn't got to that status in football yet.
Alonso is another good player .. but i'd be surprised if he's included in the allstar team.. If anyone appears in the euro allstar team from spain it will be Puyol, Raul or Casillas. Most likely Puyol because they'll need a solid RB and Thuram i don't think is no:1 in the world like he used to be.

Well I think he is. I haven't seen a better left winger so far this season, he is in unstoppable form. When he is at his best, i'd take him over Robben or Duff without a second thought, and that's without Arsenal bias.
