i like the new setup of the forums but is their any way to view new posts like before?

if I understand correct yes there is. if you press the 2nd arrow on the top of the page near the "welcome" box.

Yeah, it says it's only a temporary button so it will probably appear as it did before soon.

it says temporary because these forums are currently running beta software, vbulletin 3 beta 5 to be exact. in the final release of the forum software those buttons will become proper.
