after several instances of seeing stoppage time exceed the mins-added by more 4 or 5 times that amount, it begs the question, is it normal football rules that a possession change, out-of-bounds, or clearance end a match in extra-time? that is to say, does the ref have additional discretion beyond his clock in hand?
This is esp true in 5 minute games (of course), where an extra 30 seconds of reality adds much more to a match than it would during a 10 or 20 minute game.
I was recently trying to hold a goal lead in a cup match when entering extra time. The display showed 4 mins added on, so in a game where 90mins=5 actual minutes one would think this match should end almost immediately. however, when my defense failed me time and again, I watched 6 real-time mins pass on my wall clock. by my limited football knowledge (USA highschool rules), this is a mistake.
is this a Konami feature or is this normal in football to let the attack go on? i have seen this many times.
