FIFA 09 V PES 2009 From an Expert

having played ever fifa since 94 i have to say this years is by far the best they have finally taken pro's ideas and used them to great effect but it lacks the fluidly of pro
and until they sort that out pro will still be number 1
but fifa is trying to match pro for a sim can only be a good thing
but anyone suggesting fifa isnt getting close to pro is lacking a brain cell in my opinion and this fifa is the shot in the arm for pro to get thier finger out and with the online capabilities fifa has maybe its time pro took a leaf out of fifa for a change

viva pro 2009

PES 2009 has lost PES's fluidity... Again, clunky robot men playing with a flat ball on a waterlogged pitch.

^Ok. I understand. I'm also fed up of this hatred towards pes 09. If they don't like it, fine, but I hate it when they come all over the forum and repeat the same thing. This year it has much more positve reviews than last year.

i have to say pes 2009 demo does seem a little different not as fluid but i remember thinking the same thing about the 2008 demo and it was vastly different to the real game so just hold fire until next week and get the full game before making any assertions on the gameplay

bit of difference of opinions here boys, having played the winning eleven series and then pro evolution up until this year the two games couldnt be more different with PES winning all the way, this year i find myself in a bit of a situation, having only the demo to go by and having played the fiofa demo quite a lot i was unsure which game to buy? I bought Fifa (of course PES isnt out yet) but i seemed to enjoy this, a ferw friends come round, again all avid pes fans, to try what seemed a foreign game trying to stake a claim in our hearts, and we enjoyed it, shooting granted is poor, i know not many rockets are scored from 40 yards but the odd one does go in,come on fifa let us score, but i have to disagree with the satisfaction when scoring a goal, i get this a lot more in fifa as it is harder to score in 09, pes08 you can run it around a few players wither shoot from distance or walk it up to the goal and tap it in, fifa this year you cannot do that? well done PES fopr getting the CL license, this will bring a another aspect nd another fan bas to the game but i dont see enough of a difference from 08 to warrant another 40 notes? the ball sounds are awful on pes, you feel like oyu have no control over the ball and in my opinion its not that much different?

Now before you all say, errr FIFAfanboy i am not, this is my opinion, which is what a forum is all about, im just a little disappointed with PES 09 (from the demo) and am actually enjoying fifa09 at the moment, i guess gone are the days of the perfect game in Winning Eleven 7 and 8LE, those were the days!

everyone is entitled to well-reasoned and backed up opinions. FIFA is really good this year.. although there are a few glitches (how come people who talk about FIFA on PES forums never mention the glitches?) and the manager mode is not realistic (the fact they use real money makes it VERY difficult for it to ever be realistic - funny since some PES fans want real money in ML).

however, commenting on PES 2009 when the fullgame hasn't been released is stupid. comment on the demo but refer to it as the demo.

looking at the new videos for the PES 2009 retail game, it looks a lil dissapointing. editing seems tedious too and I can't believe they haven't contacted microsoft and tried to find a way for us as the consumers to import option files (without having to chip/flash our consoles and void the warantee which is very risky with a 360).

How can anyone say FIFA is more fluid than PES? When I played the FIFA demo a lot of the time it seemed like the game was on auto-pilot. pisses me off. PES is the real football fans game.

the FIFA 2009 retail game is BETTER than the FIFA demo.

the FIFA demo put me off FIFa but i still bought it cos my mate said the real game is different.. and it is.

the "auto-pilot" was probably because u had auto-passing on. not hard to turn it off...

and to the post above, the PC version of FIFA is terrible.
