IF it wanted to be realistic it shouldn't just have the slow passing build up as not every match and every team plays the same in reality. Every match is different, passing moves, fast 1 touch passes, lumps up the park, wing play, long through balls. Not every match has a slow passing build up to it, the shooting in it still feels poor and restricted, don't get the same good feeling you get when you hit an awesome shot in PES.

I really enjoyed the demo. The one thing I always hated about Fifa was the pace and from what the demo has showed me it's been bumped up a notch or two which now makes the game flow a lot more smoothly.

Another problem with past Fifa games is the lack of individuality between each of the players. The players never felt different but instead felt like generic footballers. The demo felt better in this aspect but was still not as good as they are in PES, buts it good enough for me.

Oh and the shooting is a lot better too which was another weak point compared to PES. Overall its not perfect but it plays a lot better than both O8 and PES 08. Realitically it is near close to perfect and the fun factor is so much better.

PES09 has it all to do. :)

I am finding it very easy to score goals now, and win games by 2 or 3 goal margins. What I found out today is if you press down on d-pad while playing, 4 options come up: Possesion, high pressure, counter attack & something else

Use 'possesion' and this helps out a lot ;)

Anyone else feel the advantage rule doesn't work in this game. Everytime the ref gives me a good advantage he blooming blows the whistle 2 seconds later. :(

Yeah, I experienced this happen in a lot of my games this evening; the other team commits foul, I get ball and start dribbling, starting a run and then the referee blows it back for the free kick :( I find it very annoying.

Hopefully, because it's ony a demo, they have sorted this out for the proper version next month :w00t  :D

I've looked man, and I haven't seen any screenshots showing snow in the game, or anything in the game info on the fifa09 website. When I get it, I shall let you know though ;)

I'm on the PS3. Where is the option to select the speed? I can't find it.

You can't on the demo; you will be able to choose the speed of the game, when FIFA 09 retail version is out. I like the speed on the demo now

you can change the speed in the demo, go to game settings it will open up in basic, hit the RT (or whatever it is for PS3) to go to advanced and it should be at the bottom of advanced match settings

Am I the only one who is only moderately impressed? The players move like they have some sort of mental handicap (and they look the part) and they don't really do what you want.

The menu's and the styling is top notch, as are the headers and their animation, but that's not why I buy football games.

Nah i'm also not that impressed either..most players still look like zombies, the fonts on the kits look crap and Chelsea's kit for me looks purple.

I had mixed feelings about the demo. I played three games with a friend and then three alone. The games I played against the computer were very easy but this was due to the fact that the difficulty setting in the demo is amateur. They have defenitely improved on the through passes but when you execute a long ball, the ball still moves like a beach ball. The graphics are brilliant and the player faces are impressive as well. However, the height of all the players is the same which is pretty annoying. I'll probably rent this first and if I enjoy it, probably buy it.

That was due to you choosing the option "I have never played a football game"

I agree about the headers animation, that looks cool. PES could really do with something like that.

And I also believe that the player models still look weird, along with the letters and numbering - you think it wouldn't matter much to anyone but it does, it takes the edge of the graphics.

just played the demo and i must say am very impressed. the graphics look very good. a few minor things to mention tho;
the only few problems i can say is that when you cross the ball in to the box it feels lyk its floating 4a day in the air b4 it reaches the player and the cutscenes feel totaly seperate from the game they dnt seem to flow well lyk they do in pro evo.
Cnt wait to play the pro evo demo wen its out and see how it compares. its gna be hard deciding which footy game to buy dis yr.
4got to mention b4 does anybody else think that in the cutscenes the players and their faces look really cartoony yet if you look at their faces in a replay they look fine? or just me?
