Well it's a bit shit, yes, but they're hardly gonna bother making a fix to something that's easily fixed by you if it bothers you that much.

I think you're missing the point now, sure, it's a small thing, but it's normally the small things that add up to the bigger picture, seeing that the gameplay is pretty solid (apart from the 'banana crosses' and keppers being ridiculously prone to being lobbede), I fail to see why they wouldn't fix this if it's an easy one.

It probably isn't such an easy fix.

They made a small fix last year to it because Manager Mode players were getting crappy shirt numbers. On occasion, they'd get a number relevant to their position and all would be fine, but not every time. This year they just gave us the option to change the numbers, along with having this small fix implemented.

It's not like I'm misunderstanding you here, and I am grateful for that option, but sometimes they take number two whether it's occupied or not. And with me usually having about 3 RB's who can play that role decently, I can forget who is supposed to have #2 when it's been snatched from them.

:/

Make a note of it then, jeez. >_>

...And hope it's fixed for FIFA 11's Manager Mode, but don't hold your breath. There's a bunch of other tweaks to the mode that need to be made that are far higher on the list of priorities, judging by the "6 fixes out of 70 MM bugs" opinion on the EA forums.

Even though I find that quite disrespectful, I'll agree to disagree (or whatever the term is for 'I can't be arsed with this debate, neither of us will come to an agreement'), because obviously I see this as more of an annoyance than you do. Mainly when it comes to any sort of editing, PES have raised standards and no-one has surpassed those unfortunately.

Anyone give me some freekick tips

Add more topspin to the ball, if you do this the ball tends to come down quicker and skips off the surface. Point the analogue stick forward in the direction you are facing. I find this very effective and you can also bend it round the wall, giggs is a master at this.

Played a few head-to-head games online last night. I'm on a winning streak of 7 at the moment after winning a lag-infested game 1-0 (v Arsenal) and then winning 5-0 against Barcelona and replaying that guy. In the final game, the replay where he now opted for Chelsea, I was 2-0 down in 25 minutes and he chose to watch the entire replay both times even though the goals were standard. Having not done that to him when I whacked him 5-0, I proceeded to let every replay run its course en route to my 5-2 extra-time win which came courtesy of him quitting in the second period of extra-time as Pato scored from 18 yards.

All of my games are against either Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal or Spain which is annoying but good for me - everyone using Real likes to abuse Ronaldo, everyone as Barca likes to link play between Messi and Ibra or does too much with Iniesta, everyone as Chelsea looks to exploit the pace of Anelka and strength of Drogba etc.

Against Inter I play my slowest football and barely ever see a player's stamina go yellow on the Team Management screen because I find the opponent is being a headless chicken.

I'll probably lose next time I'm online :/

I've rarely encountered Real Madrid online, I'm surprised to say, but a lot of people seem to pick Liverpool. I usually find myself rotating between Arsenal, Lyon, Porto and Stuttgart.

Same here, i enjoy using stuttgart and porto. Fiorentina are also very effective if you use a short passing game.

I always go Hamburg and the teams I usually play against are Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester United etc.

I love it when that happens, provides a challenge. Very satisfying when you beat Real Madrid 5-1 :). I played someone who went Celtic because I he saw I was Scottish. I was winning 6-0 when he quit, I was about to send him a message before he challenged me again. So I accept and go Hamburg and he goes Manchester United. I win 1-0 and I never even noticed this until I scored is that I was basically playing against the world's best players. He sent me a message saying "good to see you know how to upgrade your players". :D

Usually you get the odd person that will choose a German team because I have which I don't particularly think is a good idea if you are not familiar with the team. Usually I just beat them.

My brother bought this yesterday, but we don't have a lot of time to play it as we're hooked on MW2 and the GT5 Time Trial demo.

From the brief time that we played, I definitely like it more than PES 2010. The only thing that I dislike is taking corners. I don't know how to do it properly. Any tips?

I'm really sick of the speed whores who just use Torres etc. to run through the defenders, then LOB THE KEEPER!

This is worse than the cutback queens of PES. Its utterly ridiculous that Torres can lob your keeper 5/6 times in a game. Its far too easy.

At least a cutback and tap in is a well worked goal, in comparison to this cheap and easy way of scoring.

If Torres ran clear on goal in a real game he would probably score 5/6 times anyway but I know what you are saying. :)

How many of these would be lobbed over a keeper that is standing in no man's land? If they side footed the ball into the bottom corner I'd have no issue.

I would like to back this up. I just played a MM game where every goal was a chip. I won 3-1.

It's not that the chipping is unrealistic (by far anyway), it's that the keepers seem to come out too early, and it's more noticable when you have a defender or two between the attacker and keeper.
