PES-master
I've read that this FIFA will be a lot better (I think they say this every year and it still ends up shit :)) But I've heard it will be more like PES, they have the seem controls and the scoring isn't that easy as it always is.......

The beautiful game
Yea i read that aswell, also the freekicks are similar to the ones in Pro evo soccer and also the sidestep thingy.

My pc is shite for Gaming otherwise i might have downloaded the demo.

Im downloading it, could give them a chance, but it always ends up bad anyway
When you download the demo give us a little review, I might download it if it's good. I just want them to get rid of the robot-like movements it was crap.

Ok ill try that. 5 playavble teams, Barca,Meelan,Bayern,PSG and Man Yoo. Millenium stadium and Azteca stadium.

The gameplay then: first thing you'll notice is the new commentator, who gets on your nerves very quickly. "Thats a wicked free kick" "OOH safe hands"

Players movement doesnt look good, looks like even Belletti had the ball tied to his feat with a rope
Even my gran moves more smoothly in her scootmobile.
Controls are quite the same. The most important thing they missed was always depth. They only added a few nifty things that dont add to the gameplay.

First match already I scored a cracker with Van Bronckhorst.
My advice would be that you try it, its fun for a while but like every Fifa, too easy and it misses depth.

Free kicks. ah. When its a FK near the halfway line, it gives an overhead, almost on top view so you'll have more players in your sight. FK's on target are tough, you'll have to rely on only the powerbar above the players naem. No more fancy targets, so its a lot harder.

i think pro will always be the better game because allows more things to happen like long goals fifa is just routine keeper always claims it totall crap

Well, it ain't half bad at all. Graphics are truly awful though, not sure if it is just my PC but the players look like they have all been laminated. Stadiums and crowds are nice though. Pitch size seems a little too small. Gameplay wise it is very enjoyable. Not quite up to the realistic standards of PES/WE, but the first touch passes look nice. I haven't discovered how to do many things yet, but from first impressions FIFA 2006 is looking like a good game.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get the PS2 to PC convertor from play.com working? When I try to use it the game thinks I have 2 pads plugged in.

Have you tried plugging the controller into the other side of the convertor?

Yes. It's weird. When you remove the controller from the convertor, it still thinks there is a pad in. So it is counting the convertor as one pad, and then the actual controller as a 2nd.

Theving bastards in an attempt to make the free kicks better fifa have done away with the tiger woods freekicks and opted for the manual freekicks that por evo has also full custimasation of players and boots.Still the never get it right and it looks like they are running out of ideas game play looks same as ever the player models look ropey.

I downloaded the demo when I got home from work last night, played one match and promptly uninstalled it.

It didn't feel right. The player movement didn't feel realistic, my players were flying half way across the pitch when I made a slide tackle - nice one Sheva, but not quite how you do it - and I still don't feel like I have the same level of control that PES gives. Despite the graphics, this left me feeling like I wasn't immersed in the whole experience. Don't like Clive Tyldsley either. He's a tosser.
