I just can't beleive you :)

So we have to shut up and accept whatever Konami puts infront of us?! I don't know why you got offended and called me "fifa boy"? Are you a Konami repsentitive?! :)

Nevermind man, these are just my opinions, and seems like a lot of the guys who have posted messages are complaining about similiar stuff. All these opinions are here for Konami to "keep up the good work".

And remember that it's not ok to pass judgment and try to insult people you don't know. You don't have to convince anybody for anything, as I said these are my opinions so mind your own busines.

I played WE9 for 5 days and I must say I have the same feelings like beachryan, obi and alidogramaci .I will not write about all "technical" aspects of game like passing, shooting or game speed.I want to focus on feeling, just pure gameplay.
I made a little test.The same match played first on W9, next on WE8LE (ACMILAN-Inter) 4 stars.Concusion?
In WE9 the score was 0-0 after 120 min. Maybe 5 chances to score for both sides. In WE8LE after 120 min. 1-1 but the game was much more exciting. As you see there is not much difference in score .The main difference was that feeling factor.
Playing WE9 I was like : Ohh, next missed pass or lost ball.No emotions at all.Just frustration.
WE8LE : Shouting after some actions.Fun from playing.
Somebody can say: WE9 is a much more SIMULATOR . I will ask : what is more important - playing on NEW simulator with 75% results of 0-0 or 1-0 or a bit older WE8LE with more ENERGY and POWER.

Sorry if I made some mistakes .English is not my basic language.

I guess we're not saying that we don't want realism, it's just that the game is not fun to play so far, and if you want the hardcore realism why don't you just go out and play? :) I'm not trying to start an arguement here, but the fun factor is gone, and not all of us have the time to practice that much, we have a job and a life y'know?!

I will try to explain my feelings on another example.I`m from Poland. If you could watch some match from polish I league, it will be similar to my opinion about WE9. 90% of matches in Poland looks like footbalers doing some hard, hard work, many ball losses, 3-4 shoots per game, 0 technique (no tricks , it means almost 0) tempo of game is very, very slow (in Poland we have only 1 team we could say they are playing on middle european level - Wisla Krakow). You could say it is OK - it`s realistic. But I better want to see a game on Champions League level. The same on PS2
(without long, long training- I want to play 1-2 games per day for relax nad FUN).I didn`t said that realism is killing fun - this 2 factors could be well combined.Thats the difference between WE9-WE8LE

overall the game is very good, i really like it, but there's one thing that buggs me. the slowdowns.

can anyone please tell me why i am expriencing slowdowns under the broadcasting camera views, and any other view once i get near the crowds?

i noticed that in old trafford it happens less than at san siro for example.

i thought that they are going to fix it in the new version, it was really annoying in PES4.
does anyone else exprience those problems?

maybe i should adjust something in options?

Turning the crowd to zero should help a little. But I guess slowdowns are just something we have to expect with improved graphics and such. Roll on the next-gen consoles.

I think you have missed the point... he would NEVER catch Henry ever.. even if he was in a car... also you obviously don't watch much Arsenal cos Henry always keeps uber close control.

Nobody can claim the speed issue is correct on this game... it isn't pure & simple.

Mate, I do watch Arsenal, and I fully respect Henry's skills. He's got good control and great acceleration. But he will get caught, unless he's running in a straight line.

Anyway, maybe not a good generalisation on my part, but plz do try pumping the R1 button, you'll see a difference as he peels away. By just holding R1, he'll surely get caught.

Cheers m8.

Another Electronic Arts representative we have here.To convince you look at his join date. Its August 2005.Come on man, you joined the forum just to say the game is not fun to play? Are we blind ?You are definetely a fifa fanboy or you make propaganda for EA sports. The game is SIMULATION and thats what real soccer lovers want.We dont care about licences but about gameplay. For licences there are many patches. This WE9 is not just a game ,its real football taken into a computer game.Thats all i wanted to say.Dont get me wrong but enough with those libels against a such an awesome game like WE9.Thank you konami. Keep up the good work!!!

@s33k3rgr. And how long have you been a member? Only 2 mths. Wow, what a veteran. I've just joined too. So does taht make me another Fifa fanboy?

If you don't agree with what he's said, then by all means debate the facts. No need to insult ppl , c'mon. Afterall, this is an open forum, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But name calling and insulting ppl is taking it too far.

I really don't get this 'fanboys' shit. Not just here, but on all forums. Are we 'PES fanboys' just by being here? I would'nt want to think so. It just smacks of immaturity.

Cheers.

Ok cool, will try and give pumping R1 a go to see if it helps with the speed issue... :)

Thanks..... ;)

Something I think the series is moving away from is pick-up-and-playability... in years gone by anyone who didnt even own the game could pick up a pad with you and get to grips with the controls in no time.

Now there a lot more complex control mechanisms only the hardcore fans of the game are going to be getting to grips with it creates a divide between casual gaming and hardcore play... which is a shame because that was one of the plus points for me...

Being able to have a game with all my friends and them actually wanting to play without having to take a day to get onto an even playing field (although they did still take their thrashings!!!).

I think that i found a great idea for Konami to deal with this situation groovemaster is reffering to.The solution is very simple.Take out to the market two different games both with winning eleven core insight. One will be called Winning Eleven Pro,and the other would be called Winning Eleven Arcade edition.Simple.

I thought the previous versions had a steeper learning curver. Don't know bout this one yet, since haven't really palyed much multiplayer.

Well all ppl here, have been clamouring for more realism, more simulation. If that really becomes true one day, we all might not have any willing friends to play with. When bringing a new version over, I usually leave my PS2 at my mates for a week. Then have the matches a week later.

Also, after a while of getting trashed, we usually deside to play 2, 3, or 4 against the CPU which is a whole load of fun, since you eventually end up dissing your mates for missing sitters, getting offside, not tracking back. IMO just like palying a game in the park.

My best experience (WE7I) was a weekend, marathon session of tournaments played 4 v 4 , amongst mates. 2 days non-stop of pure WE bliss.

Cheers

I understand the effort of trying to make it more realistic which I think the the game is very close to the real thing now than ever before, but one thing Konami has to know not everybody has the time and patience to learn how the mechanics work. Konami has to think more globally. Make the game easier and more playable in 3 stars, and if the player thinks he needs more challenge he wiil take it to 4, 5 or 6 stars, then will be sweating his a** off even to make 3 decent passes :) You are just loosing your loyal fans to other games :p

I haven't got the game yet (still waiting for it from yes-asia) but why does the game have to be easy on 3 star? To use your wording, turned around slightly... If the player finds 3 Stars too hard, then take it to 1 or 2 stars. The way you seem to like it is to have 1 and 2 stars redundant but ideally, everyone would start on 1 star and work up to 6... not start on 3.
