First time on pes

After suffering endless bugs from the fifa games i finally thought enough is enough after the shambles of fifa 11. So i went out today and bought PES 2011 as it was on offer. May i say wow what a refreshing change from fifa it is. It plays very well dosen't suffer micro freezes and it feels more in depth too. First thing i noticed was it requires more tactical knowledge and isn't simply a jump straight into a match and win 6-0 kind of game. My first match was a hard fought match that required me to tinkle with tactics to get a 1-0 win.
PES where have you been all my life? i know where which franchise i will defantly be buying in September this year and it certainly is not fifa.

Welcome. There seems to be a lot of people moving over.

Just a quick not to the op it might take a good 20 games or so before you become fully comfortable with how pes plays and the tactics to playing the game well

Welcome to PES mate!

I'd echoe 89cruefan's advice that it takes a while to master PES 2011 so give it time...and even when you think you've mastered it, you probably haven't!

I'm in my 2nd season of Masters League and I thought I'd finally mastered it after I won 4 games in a row.... I then played Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City and Man U and picked up just 1 point! I love that PES makes you work though :)

It will take alot more time to master all aspects of this beautiful game.

After 2 weeks of PES i still struggle to win the World Cup on Top player. This is the game to play. No easy goals or moves anymore. You will be closed down. I prefer the AI cheats than being able to score at anytime or being able to do the same stupid moves. Especially the dribbling is good. Its realistic and requires timing but once you master you can pass 1 or 2 players but not a whole team.

PES is nice but after 50 games, u'll see that PES has it's screw ups as well...... ;)

I hae played PES since the beginning so I know this game well.

btw i have already played over 100 games.

The most annoying thing is the cheating when my players are slowed down so the AI can tap an easy goal in.

Offsides are starting to piss me off. What are 5 players doing 10 meters offside when i have had the ball in possesion for at least 20 touches.

It looks like small kids not paying attention to the game.

I have to aggree Kefir.

I know before i tried Fifa 10 i was always a pes player and each new pes it would take about 20-30 games to get used to how it plays.

Now after coming back from playing Fifa i realise it takes a hell of a lot more. I have played 78 games so far and still havent got fully used to it. I am getting better but its still going to be a lot longer before i can fully tackle the higher difficulties ok.

Atleast by the time i finish all my editing and get the two expansions for ML i should have played enough games not to have silly hiccups.

Its amazing i used to shout and ball at Fifa all the time, with pes i havent had a cross word yet. if i concede goals it usually is my fault and if i lose or draw its the same, my fault for wasting chances. Haha

If you make a slight mistake in defence it will often cost you a goal. Very good indeed in my opinion.

Absolutely loving this game unlike fifa i'm actually made to work hard for my wins. So far i'm undefeated in 15 matches but that's only because i'm playing it on beginner level to start with. I'll move up the difficulties as i get more confident with the game. I also like how one time i scored the player celebrated , the fans cheered , the commentator shouted goal and then no it was offside and sure enough the goal wasn't allowed. That made it feel very real. I also love how i have to break teams down to get chances on goals.

It is happening again
The more you play, the more problems you will notice. However, it still kicks the poo poo out of Fifa. PES games are improving year on year, whereas Fifa has become stagnent. So sticking with PES is definitely a good idea!

Im a PES player as well. just cant seem to get into fifa. doesnt feel right. my biggest problem with pes is the offside. you always seem to pass to the offside player even if you clearly aimed to pass to an onside player. this has been a problem since the ps2 days and has never been fixed. that said im loving pes 2011 and looking forward to 2012
