Flying headers are a pain in the ass

I can't even hit 1 single flying header. I cross the ball into the area, my man is the only one there and STILL misses the ball!

WHat to do?

They do tend to be amusingly mistimed, a forward launching himself at the ball and missing completely!

It is happening again
I know how the feeling.

They often do diving headers when shooting with their feet would be better. Often, when diving, they seem to go in slow-motion. Sometimes they don't even dive, it's more of a flop

I've loads of my player hit the air with their heads as well :p.

The timing on PES2011 is very hard. Not only the headers but pass or shoot after receiving and controlling the ball can be messed up easily.

The most annoying thing is when u need to be pass it with ur defender real fast before an opponent reaches u. U don't want to mess up the timing so u tap twice or sometimes even trice. The disadvantage of this is that, when u double tap it, u cancel ur pass making it even easyer for the opponent to take it from ya... I've kinda found the solution for this problem... KICK IT TO THEIR GOALIE :D

Claudio Pizarro has great heading stats ... until he dives for headers! On MLO he was throw himself at the ball when staying on his feet would be more effective. So far he's hit the bar once and blazed every other chance over ... or missed.

If you're in a ML, buy a prototypical big CF and have at least one winger/SMF with decent long passing stats, when coming down the wing take 2 or 3 strides towards the touchline, past where the 18yd box starts and then tap/lightly press the long pass button. I found it works out ok and I am scoring way more headers in PES11 than PES10.

The annoying thing I find is when I have two players going for the same ball and inevitably I control the wrong one.

Yes the lightly longpass gives u a lil more time to possition ur heading player, wich makes it better to time :). It's a very nice alternative, especially when the defender is too close at ya for a groundpass.

Stereotypical would be slightly more appropriate word choice as opposed to prototypical - but although I see your point I direct you in the direction of my previous post.

I had Claudio Pizzarro a very good CF, tall, mobile good shooting heading and weak foot accuracy. Still the donkey manages to fluff his heading.

Oh sure, I wasn't discounting your anecdote, just sharing one of my own :) Pizzarro does have the good body balance, responsiveness, header, aggression ratings that should* make him a good header of the ball :erm:

Pizarro is an absolute beast on PES2011 but can only score headers without leaving the ground! So annoying :D

Ya I know him - as a player, not personally ;) - in real life and checked his PES11 stats and he is very good. Didn't realise he had so many numbers in the mid 80s!

They were certainly generous with their stats for him but then he did score a few last season for Werder.

Isn't he a bit old...? In a ML there are prolly more potential players for heading than just Pizarro...

I'm looking forward to De Kogel from FC Utrecht. He is a striker, only 19 years old, strong, and very tall. He is selected last week for the Dutch youthteam. I hope the new DLC adds him to FC Utrecht.

I have Giroud starting with Carroll on the bench, Riviere my other started is also quite handy in the air. Cheap and young, with plenty of potential and they all have or are growing the requisite stats for heading in goals.
