I've been thinking of buying TCM, but from reading some posts about champ man it seems football manager is going to be the better game. What do you all think.

Seen as Football Manager was made by the same geezers that made CM. And they just left the name ''Championship Manager'' to Eidos. Then ''Football Manager'' = ''Championship Manager'' and ''Championship Manager'' = ''Not Championship Manager''. Right  ?

Yep, Football Manager is the one for me. Looks really good, they released a new set of screenshots last night.

Tethlon.
ok, this is what has happened eidos/sports interactive wise.
Sports interactive , the makers of champ manager...split up with there long time championship manager publisher..Eidos.
eidos got the rights to keep the name "championship manager"
whilst sports interactive, they were allowed to keep the game engine.
they have both gone there seperate ways...making new games.

eidos (the publisher)...have teamed up with a producer called BGS (beautiful game studios)...there new product is called championship manager 5. This is a brand new game made from scratch, but is still called "championship manager 5".

on the otherhand, sports interactive, (the producers/creators) of championship manager, still have the championship manager game engine to work from...so they havent had to make a brand new game..unlike eidos/BGS.

they will call there new game "football manager 2005" and the game will be published by SEGA.

official websites for info.

championship manager 5: www.championshipmanager.co.uk
football manager 2005: www.footballmanager.net

personally i'm gunna get football manager, as it still has the great game play of the old championship manager game but with a hell of alot added to it. Whilst, championship manager is a brand new game and the new features don't really impress me...it'll take BGS, a few seasons;) to get it right.

hope i sorted etherything there.
