I started a game with Morcambe. They have some decent players to start off with and 14k budget. Signed quite a few players on frees like Wayne Henderson, Jake Cole, Mark Jackson, Scott Mitchell(Ipswich mid...scored on his first game and then got injured for a month :angry) etc...

My first games were as followed:

East Fife 0-3 MORCAMBE
Scott Mitchell
Jack(or something like that) Carlton
Ged something

Wealdstone 0-3 MORCAMBE
Mark Jackson(3)

Quick question:

I have a play called Marquinhos he has 20s for Heading, Tackling and Marking. These are what I always look for in a defender, and his other stats arn't too bad. Pace 16, Strength 14, Passing 18. So surely he is a better player than Rio Ferdinand for example. But Ferdinand is worth tons whereas Marquinho is worth only 2 million, also when I left my job at Man Utd the next manager sold him to Sheffield Utd fairly quickly. So my question is, Is he a better defender than Rio or do stats not decide the quality of a player that much?

There is a reputation statistic which values a player relative to how well known he is. It means that although a player can be amazing, you have to scout for him if he isn't well known, and only by performing well in big tournaments etc. will his reputation increase and will he then become known to the world, his price equally increasing over time.

OK cool. Just my team had been going downhill and I was wandering if it was due to my players being statistically strong, but valued low so maybe had hidden stats or something. Thanks for the reply Sweey

I've got a problem, and before people suspect, no I don't have an illegal copy of FM06.

I haven't been able to play FM06 since I lost my copy (My brother had mates in and room was a mess when I came up. ), Anyway I checked all my PC cases, not in any of them and just wandering where I could get a crack for it.

Started my first game on FM2006, haven't ever really found time to start one up.

Plucked for Valencia for a few reasons. Good squad with a few star men that I thought would shine (Aimar, Villa, Vicente) and thought it would be tough as there would be high expectations yet high difficulty in trying to win the league ahead of Barca and Real.

First transfer: Fernando Cavenaghi, Spartak Moscow. 9.5m. Thought this was a relatively good price, bought him for cheaper than the 11m I'd just got out of Barca for Mista. Used that and the remaining transfer budget to sign Anthony vanden Borre and Olivier Deschacht.

I played a general 4-4-2 but with Vicente on the AML position and Rufete just playing as MR. Worked quite well but was drawing too many games. Signed a pre-agreement deal for Freddy Guarin. 1m at the end of the season.

At half-way point had 36 points and was hovering around 4rd place, swapping regularly between 4th, 5th, and 6th with Real and Bilbao. Atletico Madrid were surprise leaders with Barca just behind in 2nd. Betis were in between the two battles in 3rd.

Cavenaghi was scoring for fun and was making a good partnership with Di Vaio. Cavenaghi had 16 goals after 18 games, Di Vaio with 10 in the same amount.

Second half of the season let us really show what we were about. Got a quick contract extension which saw me on 55,000 a week, the highest paid manager on the game.

Towards the end of the season I won 7 on the trot to storm into 2nd, with Barca a good 5 points clear. Final game of the season was away at Madrid at the Bernabeu. A win would guarantee automatic qualification for Champs League Group Stages.

Hammered them 3-0 with 2 goals from Di Vaio and 1 from Cavenaghi.

Finished 2nd with 75 points. Cavenaghi top scorer with 29 goals and Vicente top assister with 18.

England did badly in the World Cup, Sven was sacked and I was quickly unveiled as the new England manager. Just about to start my 2nd season, signed Jan Lastuvka, Sergio Aguero and Francesc Fabregas so far, looking at Milito as a centre back partner for La Liga Player of the Year, Vincent Kompany.

Right now i'm Atletico Madrid in my second season. First season i signed Arshavin, Vanden Borre and Eddie Johnson, won la liga, Copa del Rey, and the Super Cup. Torres and Kezman upfront together are fucking maniacs, they both scored over 40 goals for me. Now my second season i got Nihat on a free, signed Fred for £10m. I have played 4 champions league matches, won 3 and drew one with Juve. 2nd in the league, about 4 points behind Villareal. Now i have just been hit ith an extra £17m:mellow: I'm currently on a spending spree now for January.
