I'm Man City in the second season (4th in league, almost 16 points off 4th)

GK: Gordon 8/10 Really improved this season, last season I dropped him a few times for James.

RB: Some Polish geezer. 7/10 Bit dissapointing for me this time, I ussually buy him with whoever I start one with, but he's let me down this season.

LB: Grosso 9/10 3.2 million! bloody steal, bettter than the shite I had in the 1st season.

CB: Dunne 9/10 My best CB, been class this season, great stats too.

CB: Distin 7/10 The great minge goes missing in big games  always giving the big boys penners.

DM: Barton 9/10 First season he was a fucking nutter, sent off 3 times and a average rating of 6.7, this season he's been a legend, in the England team and average rating of 7.6.

RM: Govou 7/10 Just bought him in january and he's just what I needed.

LM: Anderson 9/10 Been a proper leg-end, rips any RB to bits, chips in with goals too, my best signing.

AM: Serbian lad, Simon Vuckevic(I think) 8/10 been very good at the start, but has slipped in and out of from recently, for 2.5 though I'm chuffed to bits. (Should be one to watch out for in the WC)

ST: Park Joo Young: 7/10 First season 24 in 36 games, this season 11 in 19, I want more out of him because he seems to be missing easy chances this season, Chelsea are sniffing about for 25 million.

ST: Samaras 6/10 He dose alot for the team and chips in with the goals, but I want some one like Carew who can head, finish and has pace.

****Subs later****

I hate this sort of crap...

So I'm Fiorentina and I won the Serie A a few seasons ago, and every other time bar once I've been in the top four challenging for the title, generally finishing second. I've also been in the final of many cups but never managed to win the damn things.

Finally I thought my season to win trophies had come round again, following on from a terrific end to last season, I'm currently unbeaten in forty-two league games, with only one loss this season in the Champion's League. I'm top of the Serie A by fifteen points after only twenty-four games with sixty four points and plus fifty-three goal difference. I'm through to the knock-out stages of the Champion's League and the semi-final of the Coppa Italia. The season is going swimmingly. I even overcame one of my two first choice centre midfielders going out with an injury for three months. Now my centre midfield is like the pin that holds my team together Antonio Vera and Flamini are absolutely immense for me, I survived that even though I expected my season to nose dive as they have a tendency to do, but no.

I didn't see this though, there's one position that I can't cover adequately for a logn injury, bang Jesus Navas is out for four months until the end of the season. All season he's been terrific for me raiding down the right, the transfer window has just closed and I've only got Jimenez or Ewerthon to cover. Both quality players, but Jimenez is far better in central positions and Ewerthon is too old to be playing week-in-week-out. Jesus Navas was my top assister and even if he didn't get the assist he often carved out opportunities down the right and helped out with his fair share of goals.

I've got this horrible feeling that my wondrous season is going to go up in flames, there's still more than enough time for me to drop down the league and lose in the cups... I'll just cry if this happens. It's not my team is a one man team by any stretch of the imagine but when something like this upsets the balance it can ruin my run... I'm scared.

Shit happens mate. Don't want to scare you but I was 3rd in the league and Kerlon got injured for my Newcastle team for 5 months and Bam - End of season 9th :(

Ewerthon looks like your only choice. Try training one of your midfielders into a MR. Or give a Youth Player a chance. For Corinthians, Tevez and Jo were injured for me so I gave this 23 year old a chance and he scored 13 goals in 10 games by the time Jo came back.

I tried a 4-5-1 and played both Ewerthon and Jimenez to share the creative duties with Cohen as Vucinic was out anyway for Pazzini's strike partner. This didn't work so I decided to push Jimenez out wide as Ewerthon's performances are going steadily downhill. While Jimenez's isn't doing as well as Navas was he's certainly playing well enough for me to keep my title bid on track.

That being said I did lose 2-0 to Modena at home, during the 4-5-1 fiasco, it didn't help that Mexes gave away a penalty just as I looked to be getting back into the match. Oh well can't be helped now.

Just started a game with Fiorentina and have signed Rubinho on a free transfer and Scott Chipperfield for 130k and also got Kily Gonzalez on loan and I'm trying to get C.Zanetti.

Won all 4 of my friendlies with Toni scoring 8 goals in 4 friendlies.

Played the first quailfying round of the Coppa Italia againest San Marino and won 6 - 0, Toni socring 4 on his debut, Bojiniv (sp) scoring 1 and a own goal scored by a San Marino defender

Fiorentina has to be one of the easiest games I've played, with a bit of luck you can win the league in your first season. Similar to my Atletico Madrid game, win the league by a few points in my first season, then lose interest.

Anyway, I finally got my England side a working tactic and went on to win the World Cup, I was waiting for the job offers to come flooding from clubs, but I'm yet to get one offer from any club, their better be some sackings soon.

Anyone had any particularly fun teams they've managed that I could try out? I started games as both Roma and Boro, played about 10 games of each, but never really got into them. I'm looking for a game that will keep me entertained for several seasons, a team with decent finances, who I could build up to a top 4 side after a season or two, nothing too difficult though.

Edit - Is Corinthians a fun game? I've never managed outside of Europe and am interested in trying it.

I enjoy it as there are loads of wicked Brazillian youngsters you have to do. And by the end of the whole FM experience it is my goal to be a successful manager in all the nations in the game ;)

Corninthians is awesome, I played that heaps before my laptop stuffed up, it's really fun, I've played about 100 or so matches of it before my laptop stuffed up.

On my Fiorentina game after 4 games I'm 9th, lost my first 2 games, lost 1 - 0 away to Leece then 3 - 0 away to Messina, then beat Ascoli 2 - 0 at home, then somehow I managed to beat AC Milan 3 - 1 at home :shocking:

I have downloaded Patch 6.0.3 with the data update, so I presume it has all of January's transfers but can someone confirm this.

Also does anyone know where I can get some Player Retain Packs that are not in .rar format (I don't mind .zip). I hate RAR I am not going to download it as it will get all over my computer and my parents will go skitz at me downloading stuff, that is unless you can somehow hide it.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I have discovered the wonders of the DDT file creator so don't need the player retain files. I wish I had added more players to my DDT dile before I had started.

Anyway started with Palermo and have signed Sivok, Pardo and maybe Deschadt.

My players are complainig that "I don't give them enough credit", was this to do with my team talk and how can I solve this?

Stop opening the database in the editor?

I'm not sure you'll find your answer here, try a dedicated FM site like www.thedugout.com or actually try www.sigames.com. Good luck.

To help you with your problem of a run of defeats after winning Serie A a few years before Original? I believe that the AI can work you and your tactics out. It is really annoying but means the game has some sort of difficulty curve. What I try is at the end of the season (before the next year begins) change your formation to something different that you won't use, and un-assign all the players from it. That way when the game works out the levels and abilities of the computer controlled teams for the next season, it will try to counteract the formation that you have just set.

I don't know if this is 100% full proof but it stopped my formations from becoming stale and easily beaten.

Might have to try that :) nice one.
It's stupid I won 6 trophies in my first year with Liverpool, bought everyone I wanted and West ham still beat me 3-1 on the first day, nothing to do with 'em not gelling either because they had 3 friendlys, a league I made with me, Milan, Lyon and Dinamo Kiev in and the charity sheild. (I won all them by the way)
