I've just picked back up on my Forest game the last few days where I finally won promotion. Went on a run of 7 straight wins at the end of the season to clinch the title, making it to the FA Cup Final along the way. I lost to Villa, but in doing so earnt a place in the UEFA Cup with Villa already qualified for the CL :D So, Europe guarenteed without setting foot in the Premiership.

I wasn't overally happy with the squad I had come the start of the premierhship season (struggled to bring any real quality) but still had many quality players from last season that should do a job in the prem such as Carter and Barton. I was pleasantly surprised with my start to the season, and indeed was the primary candidate to fill the vacant Newcastle post but typically, results plummeted and Beardsley got the job. Not that I would've taken the job had it been offered me mind...I want to achieve as much I can with Forest first before moving on. (I'm baffled by my loyalty stat btw, 5!) It's not as if I've jumped ship in the past.

It's December now and I'm looking forward to the January window to offload some players and hopefully bring in a couple more. This is going to be a long month I can tell, with injuries building up and my lack of strength in depth is beginning to show. It has to be said it appears I may possibly have made a couple of flop signings as well. Nico Kranjcar....a free transfer from Zaragoza, thats not too big deal seeing as I didn't pay anything for him but someone I did is the Greek Ioannis Amanatidis (who was the player of the 2010 world cup!) £4.5 record signing from Bremen with only 3 goals to his name so far and his performances just haven't been there, will give him time though.

Just finished my first game with Liverpool finished 3rd

Chelsea 1st
Man U 2nd
Liverpool 3rd
Arsenal 4th
.......
Spurs 18th
Fulham 19th
Wigan 20th

Fulham is doing a Leeds, they are bankrupt and have already got rid of 21 players, Boa Morte and Malbranque want to leave so they are gone for the moment.

Surpised at Spurs going down but all their players want to stay in the league so I think they'll come back up this season.

For Liverpool, I signed Ze Roberto and Karimi on frees, signed Saviola for 10.5 million, sold Warnock and Traore to Spurs and Garcia to Betis. Signed Daei on a free and Niko Kovac, signed a Malawi international, Russell something. Signed Gilbert from Arsenal, signed Scott Carson's brother Grant and signed another of the Laurdrups. Also signed a Czech Republic U - 21 International. Signed Stevie G's cuz Anothony and signed someone dubbed the new Olly Kahn.

Hull, C Palace and Norwich were promoted, best signing so far is Hull signing Larrson on a Free Transfer.

I'm hoping for big things from Ze Roberto, Karimi and Saviola as they are my three best signings so far, hoping I can finish 2nd or 1st this season.

Halfway through my third season on a Portsmouth game.

First season I stayed up. Second I came 9th and won FA Cup. In this, my third, I'm 5th, in the Semi's in the FA Cup and in the knockout stages of EURO Cup.

Thats the team, minus Nikola Zigic who wouldn't fit on. Got Serge Makofo too, on a really cheap contract to try and get the Reserves team doing a bit better.

Eddie Johnson's just come third in World Footballer of the Year, I'm discussing terms with Defoe and Kompany, so hopefully next season I can get into the Champions League and push on for winning the league! Also, the like of Ferdinand and Stefanovic need to be replaced with better defenders as I've conceded far too many, 31 in the league after 24 games! Scored 57 though :d

Fingers crossed for the Champions League spot this season though...

Right, started a game with Gretna, got rid of the old players like grady ect. Signed four great young players from Clyde: Craig Bryson (£40k) Tom Brighton (£20k) Eddie Malone (£30k) and Kevin Bradley (£10k). In my third season now and in the SPL. Sold all those 4 players for a grand sum of £4m  Signed Sivok from Middlesborogh reserves for £2m and Lupoli from Arsenal for £1m, and loaned in Guiseppe Rossi from Man Utd. Started great in the SPL, drawing 4-4 with Rangers, who have been destroyed by Greame Souness, was 4th until November, then everything went pearshaped :( Firstly my GK Allan McGregor sufferd cruciate Ligament damage, then Sivok got a fractured skull :)mellow:). Now I'm 10th in the SPL, 3 points ahead of Falkirk, who are 12th. I've declared my intrest in the Rangers job and the chairman says he would be foolish not to appoint a manager of my calibre :)happy:) but that was months ago and I haven't heard anything since.

I took over at Pompey with the Janurary patch installed. Many were expecting a tough season and prehaps even a relegation dog fight near the end. I started the way I do with any club, I set about transforming the team and with £45 million to spend I bought in 7 players. The season started the way many would have thought, a 1-0 away loss to Everton. For the second match of the season I scored a 2-0 home win against Spurs this sparked a revolution at the club. A 15 game unbeaten run, something even the die hard fans had never dreamed about, with some hard fought last ten minute victories and some draws and a couple of wins against the better teams in the league. The run was ended by Middlesbrough with Yak getting both in a 2-1 victory, however this still left Pompey atop the table two points ahead of nearest rivals Newcastle.

Another strong run of results, not counting exits in both the cups, left Pompey in the same position at the start of the janurary tranfser window. Palacio, underperforming Lennon, and Milner (who had fallen out with aston villa and returned to Newcastle) were the three major signings to Pompey ranks. Pompey fans may have started to question, was it possible? could Pompey do what they hadn't done for 56 years at lift the top flight trophy?

As the last game of the season approached just 1 point was needed to secure the title that every fan had dreamed of. Chelsea faced Everton and looked sure to get a win with the form they were in, it didn't matter, however, if Portsmouth got a point from their home tie against injury-strewn Manchester United (injury-strewn being the right word with 5 first teamers out including Rooney, Van Der Sar and RVN). Portsmouth however exceded all expectation with a 5-1 drubbing of the red devils with the first new signing of the Theobald era, Valarie Bojinov, collecting 4 out of those 5. Portsmouth lifted the title to the suprise of almost all but the die-hard around the club and Michael Theobald was written into the history books at the south coast club.

Well done mate.

I just started a game with Pompey a few days ago, I'm about 8 games in and in 6th place, which is decent I suppose. It's certainly a fun team to play with, considering the massive funds, and low expectations of the board.

Just curious, does the board give you any extra cash in the January window? I want to start looking for a new AML, but only have around 3m left of the original 45m.

No no they dont my advice, Ibramhim Afellay, i secured his signature for a cool 2.7 million, thats at the very start. The only problem i have found is that the board are fairly stingy next year as transfer budgets go, luckily i had a mahusive clearout of the dead wood and found me enough money for what i wanted.

Woo Woo Woo
I decided to start one with Pompey after reading CC's post. I bought.

GK: Gordon
RB: Billy Jones
LB: Grosso
CB: A. Ferdinand
CB: Agogo (sp) Young German CB

DM: Carrick
AM: D'Alessandro
LM: Daniel Carvalho
RM: Barnneta (sp)

ST: Ziqic
ST: Andy Johnson

GK: Jason Brown (I think)
RB: Song Blinge (sp? anywho he's that Norwegian legend)
CB: Stefanovic
CB: That paddy lad, I forget his name.

DM: Flamini
AM: O'Neil
RM: Routledge
LM: Boyd

ST: Park Joo Young
ST: Lua Lua.

So my 1st game gets delayed due to international call ups (pissed me off cause it ussually fucks your season) But I beat Man City 3-1 and then shock horror both keepers are injured for 1-2 months :realmad: so I sign that Malakalby(sp) lad from Chelsea and some geezer from Cadiz and I manage to win the next game 1-0 (against Spurs) and thats it for now. Next game Everton.

not a bad team then. I'm in my 5th season as Corinthians and Mr Tevez is fantastic at the moment, and theres too many teams sniffing around Javier Mascherano. Get your hands on Masherano when u can, he is fantastic.

I bought Macherano after Inter poached Sivok from me. Then Inter poached Mascherano from me, and now Inter are about to poach his replacement Vanden Borre. I hate inter, ruining my team.

I am now the manager of Italy. There was a press message saying:

Fantastic management, as (My Name) rests some players such as Nesta and Zambrotta in favor of testing youngsters in the upcoming friendly.

The nation of Italy is in for a shock when they realise Nesta and Zambrotta won't feature my team at all.

My advice for anyone playing as Pompey:
1. Play Benjani he is really good got me loads of goals at the start
2. Valarie Bojinov from Fiorentina is the best signing you can make, although he did cost be £10 Mill and his contract is fairly high, he will repay that in goal after goal after goal and the best bit is.. he's only 19.
3. Buy center-backs, Stefanovic (in my experience) is unreliable and fairly old and O'Brien gets injured a fair bit.
4. Lua Lua, again in my experience, is better on the right wing with a proper out and out striker upfront with Benjani
