Got to the UEFA Quarter finals. Lost to Marseille 2-1 away and 1-0 at home. Beat Hertha Berlin 2-1 at home and 2-0 away. Lost to Sporting Lisbon 2-1 away - Really pissed off. Conceded a penalty and was chasing the game. I finally got a goal in the 83rd minute. 2 minutes later, another penalty conceded! Second leg at home, went 1-0 up in 2 minutes. This time, Alan Hutton gets himself sent off, which I had to bring on Ricksen - who got injured and therefore had to play Carrick at rightback. Sporting eventually won on 3-2 on agg. Gave Hutton a warning for dismissal and publicly criticized him.
Also, signed Urby Emanuelson on a free aswell as Romaric from Ajax and Le Mans.
EDIT: Won the SPL again. Won it at Parkhead this time, where I beat Celtic with 2 games to spare.
Michael Carrick has been immense. 32 league appearences, 3 goals, 6 assists, 9 MoTM. Won Player of the Month six times, he has been my only player to have won it this season. FW Player of the Year and SPL Player of the Year. I can't believe when I was offering him a contract, Andy Watson said that he didn't think he was good enough. Now he admires him. Journalist approached me about if I could hold on to Carrick, and Carrick praised my ability of him winning FW Player of the year.
Probably my best signing so far. Although Eddie Johnson was also good for both playing and financial reasons.

Have been doing well with Ipswich lately. At the start I couldn't even win a friggin' game! I won at Preston ( 3-2, with Alan Lee grabbing a goal In the 93rd minute! :happy:. ) then drawed at Burnley, and won at Stoke. I was 20th and I have gone right up to 9th (Thats how much the Championship is open!). Here's my formation:

It's worked well. I have made an offer for Sebastián Larrson of Arsenal, Arsenal accepted and I just have to get him to accept the contract. I hear you say "Why is their no Naylor in the starting line-up?" Well it's because he got injured and i played with this formation and i won, drawed and won, so at the minute, Naylor is not needed.

Anyone ever started unemployed? christ it's hard work, I had all the British leagues running and got a job on some fucking farm in Scotland :mellow: I was manager of Elgin FC for a total of 2 hours before my star striker (with a finishing stat of 7!!) broke a leg, so I quit.

I always quit after one season at whoever I choose to play with, regardless of how I've done - so that I can start from scratch, as it were.
Never started unemployed - I like to play the season out with a club so I can become a face in the game, as it were.

Just re-started my FM 2006 without any patches or updates, which one's would you recommend?

Get the official 6.0.3 patch, that's a must (you can get it with or without data) as it removes a lot of bugs in the game.
I myself am still scouring the internet for a decent update - and I won't download one until I've seen conclusive reviews to suggest it's worthy of installing over my database.
I'd also recommend a few graphical extras - this download gives you 3D player icons, which - if you ask me - look sweet.
Also, downloading a few face packs, team kits and logos greatly improves the overall look of FM. These can be found on most sites, although I used http://www.fmformation.net for kits and logos and http://www.sortitoutsi.net for all the facepacks.

I've heard mixed things of that update. Some people say "thanks, dis is gr8 update of world" yet others, who seem to be more intelligent, are criticising it as a weak effort, with loads of inaccuracies.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I just got a new comp and no longer have all my logos, kits, backgrounds, etc and now Suzies site has taken down some of the old ones.
I am in need of -
2006/2007 kits - I had last years but now i am looking for this years preferably creased, aslong as they are all the same style
Logos- The rotated logos for all the big leagues, ( eg, Premiership, Serie A, etc)
Backgrounds- The Stadium Background packs , Scotland, England , Spain, Italy, Germany, France, World Cup
Facepacks - Premiership, Italy, etc
Skins - The Turnstyle Skin
If anyone has these or has any links I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Mark - http://www.fmformation.net has pretty much all of those. Not sure about the stadium backgrounds, but they've got a lot of stuff there. Something like 500+ downloads at present.
Jonny - Tre Kasono, or whatever his name was, made the best editor for FM/CM ever. I want something like that one - I just put Bendtner at Birmingham on loan in the official editor, and he started on loan at P. Ferreira. I mean, it's bad enough that it's the wrong place, but to be on loan at Chelsea's right-back?
Also, that update is riddled with missing information - Nacho Novo appears in Everton's squad list even though he's contracted to Rangers (got to see it to understand it), Fabrice Fernandes is still at Bolton, and lots of other things.

just started a rangers game after seeing how well daz_rangers51 is going,currently unbeaten and at the top of the table and celtic just beat hibs 7-0 beattie scoring 5 and you can see the massive gulf between the old firm and the rest

Well I'm not having a good third season domestically and European.
Despite beating Arsenal 5-0, Bayern 3-0 and drawing with Arsenal 2-2. Still finished bottom of my group after 2 suprised loses to Rennes.
I have been third for sometime now and Hearts where top of the league, but they have dropped points and I am only 3 behind now. Beginning to pick up now that McCormack is fit and him and Davidson linked well in the last two games.
Despite having a poor first half of the season, Portugal appointed me as the new manager of the national team.

I just thought I would post my tactics and my first team aswell.
I'm currently 3rd. Won my last 3 games in the EPL. And my record in the Champions League is LWW. I lost to Real Madrid 2-1, I beat Olypiakos (sp?) 2-0 and I beat CSKA Moscow 3-0. I'm pretty proud of my results in my last few games. I hope I can keep it up.
