I know it's a little more time to commit weekly, and you said this would be the main thing that could prove a problem, but I would personally hope you'd reconsider.

I only use words like "definite" and "non-negotiable" to try and discount people who are likely to be unreliable, y'understand.

Firstly, amass a decent amount of posts on here, and with it a solid reputation.

Secondly (and this is linked to the first point), cut out the awful grammar.

No-one will be considered who we don't "know" for the simple reason that although you might be sound, you're equally likely to be a plank.

Well, as it stands, I can not do those times so it's pretty clear cut. If it reverts to the Monday then I'm definitely up for it.

Will have to do some thinking. The closest I can think of is some sort of Scottish division that has something like 10 or 12 teams in. How many are in the MLS?

Right, I've just started a test game with the following settings:

Football Manager 2008 v. 8.0.1 (i.e. patch required)

Database: FMFormation.net's database update v.1.0 (released Feb. 7th - so all transfers done)

Database size: Huge

Server IP address: 192.168.0.2 / 90.196.77.249

Selected Leagues

Belarus (consists of two divisions, 14 teams in each - starts in April)
Bulgaria (top division consisting 14, two sub-divisions of 16 each)
Croatia (top division 12 teams, second division 16 teams)
Czech Republic (two divisions of 16 teams each)
Hungary (top division 16 teams, two sub-divisions of 16 each)
Poland (top division 16 teams, second division 18 teams)
Romania (top division 18 teams, two sub-divisions of 18 each)
Russia (top division 16 teams, second division 22 teams - starts in March)
Slovakia (two divisions of 12 teams each)
Slovenia (two divisions of 10 teams each)
Serbia (top division 12 teams, 18 team second division)

There's an excellent range of kit colours available, and I think if we could fill all 10 slots in a league it would be quite good.

By the time we're ready to start, the official update will be out I imagine, so we'll be using that I guess.


Nifty and I tried testing a game out earlier but I couldn't join. We weren't sure if it was a router problem or the fact that I didn't have the fmformation update, or maybe even something to do with the way I was entering his IP. doh

The problem with people connecting to the server relates to me not opening up the relevant ports on my router (i.e. technical problem down my end) and will be sorted soon enough.

Yeah I realised that after trying. It's because last time I did a network game the computer and laptop were linked by wireless internet and you could join it even if the host wasn't on. :doh:

Also, by "devices provided in-game" to search for players do you mean the scouting system or the Find Players > Player Search function?

We had to use Hamachi, though, as all the port-forwarding in the world wouldn't let Dan or anyone else connect!

Download and install Hamachi, then get in touch with either me, Dan19, Phatmann or Original? for username/password details.

I still maintain that we don't all need Hamachi, if Top Gun were to enter the IP address in FM I imagine it would work, though I may be incorrect.
