I've now discovered that I'm far from the only one going through this. I had forgotten to mention the number of my goals disallowed (around 20 in my first season, four so far in my second season). That's ludicrous. My strikers end up with lots of one-on-one situations and mess 90% of them up (Alexandre Pato in particular) and other people are going through the exact same thing so it isn't my tactics or training. One rather scathing review of the game highlighted the ridiculous number of disallowed goals. I wouldn't have a problem if I failed to dominate or my strikers were shit but Gilardino, Adriano, Ronaldo, Oliveira, Inzaghi AND Pato?!

Does anyone know why I can't get the editor working?

It comes up with this error 'This application has failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I've re-installed it three times, and, this keeps coming up when I try to load the editor up.

As Phatmann said, you need to acquire the missing DLL file, and stick it in your C:\Windows\system32 directory.

These files are easily obtainable for free, just Google the filename (or click the link provided in the post above.

On a slightly-related note, I've been updating my game with transfers etc. on a daily basis to keep it manageable. I will release to the general public at some significant juncture (e.g. New Year).

I've been using the bottom style since Football Manager 2006 - gives the match-engine that bit of edge.

Also, where are the default facepack player photos (cut-outs that come with the game) kept. I can't find them for shit.
