I don't really see the fun of playing with top clubs anymore, there's not really a great challenge/target to work towards. I enjoy playing with a league two club and trying to see how far I can get them and what players I can attract, although I get bored of games easily I'm trying to keep this Brentford game going - signed Pericard and Wallwork and a few other loans from top clubs. I'm currently in fourth place.

The only thing I find is it gets frustrating trying to spot young talent. Everyone you know has grown up and the club itself never progresses enough to be able to attract the top scouts and whatnot. At least that's what I've found.

I managed to get Grays into the Premiership after a 10 year long struggle. Wasn't fun at times but I managed it!

Yeah, it is pretty fucking long at times, but a lot more satisfying. It does help in general too as you look a lot more for value for money where-as if I'm someone like Chelsea I really wouldn't give a shit about chucking around an extra million or two.

Nice one. :smug:
 Completely took that out of context; you should work for The Sun.

What formation do you guys use?
I can't find winning formation!
If you're Chelsea and can't find a winning formation then I really do feel for you. I'd just go with a standard 4-4-2, but I don't know - maybe you're not winning due to other reasons. If not, there's plenty of FM forums specialising in formations and tactics about - so maybe Google them.

Man, I hate this game. Playing a LAN game with my brother and I'm currently 18th with Man City with 3 wins and 10 losses :|, whereas he is 3rd with Everton. I'm just gonna moan how this game is bullshit as Reading are 4th, Arsenal 8th and Liverpool 12th ;)

Can someone tell me why the hell I bothered signing Geoff Horsfield and Matt Jansen?

EDIT: Great, very poor morale for both and 60% condition :\

It's Supposed to Bubble
I'll always start a lower league game and intend to dominate the world with Havant & Waterlooville, but i really don't have enough patience for it nor do I play enough. i had one several season lower leage game in FM06, and it was about 75% tedium 25% pay off.

I started with Wigan and its not a great start, drew 1-1 with Derby then lost 2-1 to City and 4-0 to Reading

I got the game Sunday and have played it for around 10 hours and Im at the 11th December 2007.

I have been tinkering with my team instructions to find a sweet spot and 6 games ago I found it, with Vennegoor adding goals to his games ratio and now has 16 in 21 in all comps. I think its because I told my team to go all out attack, thank fuck Im doing well now as the start was a bit jittery, though Ive only lost 4 games all in, 3 of which were in the CL.

I started with 9m, signed Gabriel Obertan (5m plus add-ons), Scott Arfield (200k), David Watson (200k), Matheiu Flamini (Loan), Sergey Ignashevich (Free), Olexandr Rybka (100k). Apart from Flamini and Ignashevich the other players I have signed are aged from 17-18 and are doing very well in my u19 team, Obertan is on rotation with McGeady and Nakamura in the first team and has an eye for goal, but is a bit greedy.

I suggest Scott Brown to anyone looking for a good CMF/RMF he is solid, makes runs and creates goals for me.

How do Liverpool only get 8m

I started my Liverpool game, and it isn't going brilliant, about 9th after 4 or 5 games, but even if I win the fans hate me as I signed Clint Dempsey :ninja:

Only got him as back up as well ... :(

Started a Alfreton game, signed quality players like Nathan Jarman (Who in FM07 got 21 in 18 games for me for Alfreton) and some other guy I can't remember.

Drew my first league game 2-2 away to Southport, after they scored in the 89th minute to make it 2-2, bastards :(

Wait Here, Gone for Help
I resigned from Villa because the board didn't like me but I applied for the Reading job and got it. We're doing well at the moment in 8th place and only a few points off a European place
