Trapped In Cabinets
I've booted up 2006 recently.

It was the good times of Portsmouth. One division above of the scum, and with a nice kitty to play with I set about work.

Selling upwards of 15m of players through the season I bought in a fairly strong team including:
Huntelaar
Vanden Borre
Billy Jones
Motta
Piqué
Ducasse
Arenas
Pazzini
and my own personal favourite, a little Argentinian known as Mr Leo Messi.

Couldn't actually be bothered to bed them in in the first season, so I went off on holiday for the the majority of it, came back to a disaster area. We'd already been relegated and my 'assistant' had stuck Messi in the U18s. Sacked him as soon as I got back, won the final three games of the season but still got relegated on goal difference.

Blitzed The Championship, only losing twice and having a good run in the FA Cup, getting to the semi final. Signed a couple of defenders at the end of the season and set ahead mounting an attack on the Prem.

Season started well with a few good results including a win at Arsenal on the first day. Won the league cup with an astonishing 8-2 (no really) win over Liverpool. Won the FA Cup against Utd, including beating the scum 3-1 on the way (which my fans loved).

Was sitting in 4th with two games left. Chelsea top and champions, Utd 2nd, Spurs 3rd. I played, and beat, Spurs on the last day, Utd slipped up with a draw at Wolves and I finished second.

Very very happy over all, need to push on in Europe this year, signed Iniesta on a free transfer, along with Bojinov. Did lose the Community Shield to Chelsea though.

I just got Bristol City promoted to the Premier League. Just beat Reading 2-1, the winning goal coming in 15 seconds before the Full time whistle :D.

Bit lucky but ill take it. I scored the most goals (92) in the Championship with newcastle being 2nd scoring 85. My defending wasnt so great conceded something like 50. I should of got into the automatic promotion places as i beat all the other top 5 teams except a draw twice with newcastle (which im still annoyed about as i was winning 2-0 and they had 2 sent off but still came back to 2-2. I dont know how..they had no strikers.) but i kept stumbling on the smaller teams and thats what cost me in the end.

Pretty pleased with getting into the PL with pretty much the team i started the season with. I bought one player, Boucher a very young talented GK and i loaned out Verratti from Udinese because hes a good playmaker and excellent at freekicks and penaltys. I really want to make Verratti a permanent move.

Just a quick update. Its mid July now, preparing for my debut season in the EPL. Got a transfer budget of £21.5m pounds and as i chose the option to try and avoid Relegation.

So far ive got:

Joe Hart £3.5m Im very pleased with.
Sergey Krivets £4.5m Depending on work Permit
Marco Verratti £1.4m Another bargain but just got injured in training so out for 2-3months! >:|
Melchiot on a Free. Just as back up. Hopefully sell him on in January for money :D

Sam Hewson and Fabian Brandy from United both on Frees

Jamie Ashdown on a free from Pompey.

And just signed £6.5m on Joe Mattock from WBA.

Got a good little team going now. Hopefully we can survive in our First year.
