HI all, ok so Ive been playing PES/ISS for many many years now, so I dont think im a bad player. Matches between myself and my cuz are intense, they are close but generaly I have the higher win average. This seems to have all changed with this new game even though I thought it was more suited to my style. Im getting hammered left right and centre, loosing game after game has become frustrating. Its always Liverpool vs Arsenal (me being Arsenal). Ive tried change for formation, change in strategy, then even changing the way I play to suit an alternative formation, I've tried man marking, Ive tried playing offensive, defensive, presssing, loose, compact, still no joy. So basically im looking for some advice, if I try and describe the nature of our games, what formation, set up or style of play would you go for.
My cuz as Liverpool, plays a 4-3-3 formation, which looks more ( 4-2-1-3) he playing a pacey Babel on the left, Torress down the middle and Kuyt who seems to always win 50/50's down the right. Then youve got Gerrard right in the middle getting involved with everything. He plays very direct, no messing around with advanced controls, or adding variety, in that respect hes quite simple. either ball down the wing and ball accross the box/cut in shot-rebound off keeper OR getting Torres and Gerrard to attack very direct down the middle.
Defensivly his team seem to sit very deep, maybe more to do with the way I play, finding space or getting behind the defence is rare and when I do, the keeper Reina is quick to close down 1-1's.
My main problem is although I know how and attack is going to go, I can see who the defends should be marking, as Babel sprints down the wing, theres physicaly little I can do about the cut back/goal thats coming. OR the shoot/rebound/tap-in. Its predictable.
How do I play? I seem to have most of the ball and most of the attacking play, I play a very Arsenal like passing game with close triangles, try and get Walcott away down the wing for a cross or cut back( which doesnt work as often for me , as there always seems to be more defenders deep on his end).
When I do score, most come from an Arshavin cut in/shoot or tight triangles ending in a successfull through ball.
The general pattern goes - I attack for several minutes, he gets a quick break, very direct and scores.
Now given this situation, any advice on tactics/formations/marking ( anything!) I should try and adapt my style too which may help?
thanks!
