the idea is vaugely the same, although the free kicks have changed quite a lot.

my trick i use for 18-22 yards out (but definatley no further, and works best right on the edge of the box) is to hold down on the d-pad, and hold circle down till u get as far as itll go. more often than not, the wall will jump and your shot will squeeze into the bottom corner.

as for free kicks futher out, i find that they never have enough power unless u hold up on the d-pad. only problem is the more power u get the harder it is to get it up and over the wall. try different techniques in free training till you find one that works for you.

also an idea is to try different players. i prefer taking my free kicks with edited players, but i dont make them perfect by any means. try editing a player and putting his free kick stats in the late 80's-early 90's. put his free kick technique to F. i totally love this technique now its better than beckhams on this game.

let me know how u get on with that!

If it is 24yards out or over you will want the power bar just over half way. And as soon as the ball has left your foot hold up and if you want you could put some curl on.

i do the oppsite, i press up and it puts more power on it and usually goes in.

who do u take your kicks with generally?

ok, pressing up plus R1 even gives it a more powerful shot, and R2 plus down a weaker shot.

when i play pes, i use the digital pad, but when it comes to freekicks, i use the left analog. -so much more sensitive to the up-down factor. if i take one from 17 meters out, i keep it about 20-30% down, and keep it down the same percent while the shot goes.

in pes2, i always used the digital pad, and after a heavy week of pes3, found out that analog was the only way to go.

free kicks on pes3 are easier than on pes2. you do have to use more power though on pes3. it took me a couple of hours to get used to it but now im scoring them more than i did in pes2 and i consider free kicks the best aspect of my game.

i agree with that, the keepers are more clumsy than before, and they dont make superman-like saves when u plant one in the top corner.

more enjoyable

The guy in Lazio's real name is Mihajlovic from Zerbia and Montenegro (Yugoslavia). One of the best FK taker in the world.

He once scored a hat-trick from FK in one Series A match many years ago.

how to never miss a free kick on the edge of the box

if ur on the edge og the box aim ur shot for the opposite top corner to the keeper. holding up on the d pad tap circle as lightly as possible whilst still holding up.(hold up til the ball goes in) i say never miss but its bout 98% sure of scoring. the keeper doesn't recognise it as a shot and dives late it does work a little further out but is harder. go try it now in trainning mode and pm me wot u think
