I have done this quite a lot of time..but only in training....i don mainly when im around 20 yards or less from the post and im at an angle. What you do... is aim for the middle guy of the wall..so the ball is ahead of him....instead of pressing the square button..hold down direction d-pad and press the circle button full power. For this you have to be very accurate..if not the keeper will easily save it.

daddymac, beckham uses the E technique.

for those of you that dont know:

A= Standard
B= High follow through
C= Roberto Carlos
D= Side on run up
E= Beckham
F= Flick through (Robert?)

I think Del Piero is without a doubt the king of free kicks. I still remember the year i champions league, when 4 or 5 of the top ten goals was free kicks from del piero :)

4 me, i go 4 beck!!!!! coz of his style of kicking!!
..but if u mastered the fk, u can use either of them.
..by simply aiming the ball in the middle of dummy wall, and tap the O (d pressure is depending on the distance.)

cheerss!!!

its got to be beckham!!!

the attributes don't lie!!
but u could say that the best free kick takers are the hardest to master

lol ^ tight poll that

f technique isnt the "best", only thing that changes with techniques is animation and viewpoints

e.g. carlos far back

seems to be more powerful sometimes but i think thats just bull, its only players power that matters :eek:

the players kicking technique doesnt have any effect on how good the free kick is (in my experience)

its all about the stats, i find that when taking a kick with beckham or mihajlovic, i need to get the power over half way to get it over the wall. whereas with a player who is bad at free kicks, i could get the power under half way and he'd hit it over the bar - in that respect, it takes a good bit of practise to judge how much power to put on it depending on what player you have.

Nah Mate, Technique is important (just ask the ladies, lol)

I score loads more E's and F's than A's and B's,

try this: go home, change Beckham to C (Carlos Free Kicks) and see how many you score!

haha ok but thats only because roberto carlos' technique makes it very hard to judge where the ball is going

but his is the only technique i rarely score with

If you wanna try a different but good method of freekicks - not about technique or power - visit my post in hints and tips. Its called 'Good Freekick Technique' - tell me what you think.

i hold R1, press [] till a bit past the middle of the power bar, and while shooting I hold down and the direction you want to curl the ball

not to burst your bubble but......

i think everybody here uses that "technique"

what other "technique" is there :eek:

only thing i dont do is hold down, reduces power too much -
only use if close o course

I hold down because it gets the ball over the wall and it gets lots of dip. If you just hold up, R1 or both - it normally hits the wall, or it goes sky high over the crossie. The method I use works really well 4 me 7/9 freekicks in training but im not getting much feedback from others, maybe you can't understand my description (my fault). At least sum1 agrees with me (red_devil i think). You just have to master the art of freekicks. Just Practise, its the best way to get good.

technique does make a difference, u get a totally different free kick! change beckhams stance and try it.

Yeah I agree it is very hard to do my freekick method using Bobby Carlos, but it still is possible. Its tons easier with becks than carlos so I guess people who say technique is 'rubbish', then i'm afraid they must be wrong.
