From controlling only i player to 1 team?

I've downloaded a patch, after installing it when i played i just only controlled only 1 player at 1 time . How can I change into controlling the whole team like usually people play?...please help me...
This patch is good coz it update the latest transfer...i.e. Robinho (Man. city

when you get to the screen with the little controllers on it, where you choose left or right... press square if ps3/ x if xbox then change to assisted or semi assisted, chances are it is on manual maybe? hope this helps
