First of all I am not sure if this is the correct place to put this thread but since its to do with another game I thought it was as good as any . Please moderators move it if you believe it would be more appropriate somewhere else.

Anyway I play Madden 2005. I have found a link which has the updated team rosters on which can be downloaded onto a Max Drive.

Unfortunately though it for American users. So my question is if its possible to translate the data so it can be used here in the UK ?

I guess the games will be similar so give it a go. If you use your Max Drive to put a copy of your save file on your PC then if it goes wrong you can always put it back.

No sorry you misunderstood me - I have tried it ! It shows that it is on my Max Drive as an Option File and then also on my Memory Card but the game doesnt recognise it. I assuming it needs to be translated so was wondering if anyone knew how to do this.

I did hope that one of our American friends may know. I was hoping that someone may have converted a PAL option file which we use to one that they could use.

Hi I have been searching around as well and have found the solution. I know this is old but a lot of people want the answer to this question.

I'm terrified that I might break a rule and get shouted at, so please dont hate me.

1) Go to gamefaqs (search google) and go onto Smackdown vs Raw.
2) Click on 'Faqs and Guides'.
3) Near the bottom there is a guide called 'Game save conversion guide'
4) This should explain what to do.

I have nothing to do with this guide and I am yet to test (due to waiting for my X Port). So if someone could tell everyone what it is like that would be great. ;)

Just tried that, went to
http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/920640.html

but the link to the conversion guide doesn't seem to work
(located in the left column near the bottom, under "In-Depth FAQs").

From previous experience, the NTSC version of a game is a completely different game so saves won't work straight away. Kinda like the WE9 option file not working on PES5.

This conversion method could work but we'll have to find a working link first.

You need to write click on those links and select "save target as" or "save link as", depending on your browser. This should download the option file. And if it's the wrong filetype, you can use the x-port/max drive file convertor in the File Downloads - Tools section, but this is not to be confused with being able to convert ntsc/pal.

huw140269 - did you read my post? ;)

Try Codejunkies for saves, and if you want Pro Evo saves look in the download section (on this site) because there are some decent one floating around.;)

I don't know why you arn't getting through to the guide Zygalski and Huw. You probably have by now, but the basic jist of this is that you can only use .xps files to convert. You then use the PS2SIDC from ps2savetools.com to jiggle some codes around, e.g. BESLES-52781.

You may have heard of this technique and think it's rubbish. But I am still waiting for my X Port of Ebay so I am unable to say if it works or not.

The link we Zyg supplied does work but when you go into that link the further links dont work. I am trying to download rosters for Madden 2006 which have been uploaded in NTSC on Max Drive. I need to download these ontomyMax Drive in PAL format

You are a bit more of an experianced PES INSIGHT user than me so you may know if I was to get confirmation from Zyg or someone on whether I could post the part of the guide you want on Max Drive NTSC to PAL conversion straight onto Insight, then that may be the solution. It's just I don't want to break rules or anything.

P.S. The guide is made by a guy called Dan Fookes.

EDIT: Just had a look at the guide and I have a felling this maybe for Smackdown vs Raw only. I am also looking for a save for Madden and I am waiting on an X Port from Ebay to arrive before I can test this method

Sorry but I can't seem to post the file up as it claims it is invalid. Also I am awful at emailling stuff so I can't do that. Soooo here is my only suggestion on how to do this:

1) Firstly download the file that you want, e.g a Madden 06 roster. Regardless of whether it is US. Get an X port one as it makes it easier.

2) Next click here and download this tool. It is explained in the thread how to use it.

3) If the save is X port you need to do the following thing.

This link will get you directly to the download. Then extract it, install it and click on the PS2 symbol.

Open it up and you will get a smaller box.
It will have three boxes with Load save, below it a pink box and a final white box. There will also be two tick boxes with Backup and Extension on them. (Extension may appear later)

4) Click on Load Save and find your save. An ID number will come up in the pink box, it will be like BASLES-57463 or something like that. Then in the bottom white box...

Change the product ID to BESLES-52781, uncheck Backup save, uncheck change extension

5) Then press Save...

6) Next start up the .xps to .max converter that you downloaded earlier and follow the instructions that are stated in the thread to make it a max drive save.

I give credit to every tool and information that I have just given you and are amazed at the skill some people have with a computer to create these programs.

I hope it is allright, sorry I couldn't send you a save. This is the best I can offer, also I haven't tested this so please dont be mad if it doesn't work as it is a bit of a longshot. (Also I haven't got Madden 06).

Sorry if I am not allowed to post directly to one person but this may help to beak this process down a little for others. ;)

Ok sorry to drag this thread back up, but I have worked out how this works. (Just about)

The code you enter, that I have quoted as BESLES-52781, is different for every game. I know the codes for Smackdown vs Raw and Smackdown vs Raw 2006 as they are on a site.

But if you want a Madden save for example, then you will have to know the NTSC code for Madden and the PAL code for Madden.

The PAL code can be found on the spine of your game, where it says SLES - then some numbers.

You then just need to stick BE infront of it, and enter it into the PS2SIDC as the method a few posts up explains.

For example, the PAL code for Madden 2005 is BESLES-52581. You then need to load up the NTSC save to the PS2SIDC and enter the new code as BESLES-52581.

I will try this later, and I hope that someone sees this thread and can give some feedback on their own experiances.
