Future Game Focus Tournament Plans

hiya!

Okay... The owners of Game Focus and I have assessed the two league tournament and we are going to bring in effect the weekly league tournament. A few changes to league will be in order such as winning streak limits. Soul Calibur 2 will have two machines due to the popularity (more than 15 ppl have signed up at one time) so this game will be on the GameCube and PS2.

Games will be reduced from 5 to four to increase space. I will also bring in prizes for the top player in the league. League for each game will continue for two months, in which time we will find a winner. It will then start again for another two months and titles will change such as TTT for T4 and visa versa.

Poor attendance for Pro Evo 2 on 12th July. There could be a possibility that future Pro Evo league tournaments will be dropped in favour for Tekken Tag. Come on ppl. I know u guys can do better than that!

Rules will be put up on the game focus website, along with news, photos, and results. There will also be a Dynamic League version of the results for those who want to compare.

We will be opening the league in the weekend, on saturday and Sunday. Saturday from 1pm to 7pm and Sunday from 12 noon to 5 pm.

Most probable games to feature are:

SC2
VF4 Evo
Capcom vs SNK 2
Super SF II X
Halo
Tekken Tag (If can get VF4 UK) OR Pro Evo Soccer 2
Smash Bros Melee
Tekken 4

Games will rotate between saturday and sunday so if on saturday we have vf4 sc2 halo and t4 and the rest on sunday, we will have vf4 sc2 halo and t4 on sunday next week and the games on sunday will be on saturday and then visa versa week after.

Entry will stay at £3.

Smash Bros will be dropped for Mario Kart GC 8 player once it is out on import.

Stats and league tables will be ready by Saturday on the Game Focus website. I've still got to process the rest of the results.

don't scrap the PES2 contest in favour of Tekken tag! i'm sure this time you'll get a good turnout. just advertise the tournament on this site a bit more.

Whoever thinks that 5 minute matches are the "true player rating system" is misguided. This isn't aimed at you Steve. Just whoever wrote that line.

LOL.. that was Derrick Lynch.... Back then, matches were on 10 mins. But the turn around on that took ages.

I still would like to put more PES games on, but I can only do that with loads of ppl on the list for PES on the days of the league tournament, otherwise, its just 1 machine on 5 min matches. Or Tekken Tag... cause I'm guarranteed ppl on it.
