Game freezing on exit and crowd sound missing

Hi, I'm from Latvia and I'm new to this forum, so I must ask you to excuse me, if my English grammar knowledge is not so good. As I have written in the title, 2 new problems occured in my PES 2008, and what's funny, it happened after I reinstalled my Win Xp and PES 2008, before that everything worked perfectly.

1) So the first thing that bothers me, is that when I want to exit the game, I find the "Exit" in the menu and press it - nothing happens, except that my screen turns black and I understand that my computer has "frozen" or "hung", call it how you like - neither does ctrl+alt+delete or alt+f4 help, except "Stand by".

2) Second problem that appeared in PES 2008 after reinstalling my OS, was the crowd noise/sound. The problem is that in several game moments it's missing. All I can hear is the commentary - for example when I score a goal or when I'm close to a penalty area, the crowd/fans just turn silent. I have installed the correct drivers for the sound card correctly, I've tried to lower the sound settings through dxdiag - nothing seems to help.

Maybe you know what could be the problem or maybe possible solutions? Thanks.

Maybe the second problem is because you haven't got the reccomended hardware for playing the game.

Thanks for the quick response! As I previously said, I've reinstalled my windows xp and nothing else - the hardware was left untouched. I should repeat, that before this, PES 2008 worked without any problems, especially without these two problems, but now, I have no idea, why something must go like this. Anyway thanks, and I will be glad to listen more of your advices.

I don't play on pc but used to. When I had pes 4 and 5 on pc my problems were similar to yours and it was all because of the hardware. Now that you're saying that you had played it before than it eliminates the hardware problem. I don't really know any other reason. Sorry.

I have this same problem mate. I often find elements of the sound just vanising for no reason then slowly returning after a minute or so. It's really irritating and the loss of concentration has often cost me a goal.

It seems, that lowering the sound settings through dxdiag a little bit more solved both problems, don't know how it solved the exit problem, but the fact is that everything is now working fine.

Crammy:

Try to do the same thing that I did through DirectX Diagnostic Tool:
1) Start->Run->type dxdiag->hit Enter->choose the sound tab (at the top)->try to lower Hardware Sound/Acceleration level

Hope that this will help ;)
