Game speed

Hello everyone. My problem is the following: I have a 1.3 GHz Pentium with 256Mb Ram and a GeForce 2 400 Mx card. I just bought PES3 for my PC only to discover that even at the lowest resolution and with medium detail the game is too slow, especially when approaching the goalkeeper area. It looks like bloody slow motion replay! How can I boost game speed without buying a new PC? Would a better graphics card help? Really need advice on this please. Thanks.

Umm let me see, better graphics card, CPU...motherboard.....ram.....hang on, a better pc I think...sorry dude. With a GF2!!! you will struggle so bad, and you'd need some more ram, ok to be honest you might get away with the cpu. I think if you can find a better card, radeon 9600 and a 512mb ram upgrade, you may get some decent performance.

G2 MX is good graphic card, unfortunately only on office applications :) Fact is, that konami programers are unexperienced in PC programing, lazy bla,bla,bla.. fact is, that this is a straight port from PS2 with absolutely null optimalization - it's a SHAME

Well, if you are into the patching side of it, and have a good system to play it on..ok maybe I should say a certain system to play it on, then get it.

I think that this slow-motion have almost nothing to do with having or not a decent PC...In all the games I've played before, if your machine can't handle the game properly, you will get poor fps, but the game still runs with an acurate timing. 1 minute is 1 minute even at low fps rate, but in this horrible PC version is like if your PC must mantain a constant fps rate (60fps for example) to get the right speed, which is impossible of course.
I've tried the patch and now the game don't run at overspeed like before, but now it runs at slow-mo instead and it's unplayable. Disabling the sound car doesn't helped :/
An Athlon 1400, 768Mb and geforce2 Ti 64Mb must be enough to run a game like this, no matter how many fps, but at right speed at least. Is so difficult add a frame-skip to the game? I don't think so
PD: Sorry my "spanish english" :p

Geforce 2 ti, is not good enough, sorry, but its true, and its an unsupported card. I used to have a gf2 ti, and yes it was good, about 2 years ago, graphics have come too far since then, and any geforce, including geforce 3, wont do a great job with this. Konmai has not made enough optimisations for lower end cards, its sad but seems to be the case. Still, it seems alot of Nvidia Users are having problems....any ATI Radeon people out there with problems? just wanna see if its card related, then it could mean that the card architecture is responsible where older cards with older architecture struggle to run this game.

t1000 I'm agree, geforce2Ti may be not good enough to run this game, but I'm not asking for 100fps, I only want to run this game at normal speed, even at 3 fps :( That's what I mean when I said that must be enough

Well, 1.8 P4 with 256 RDRams and Radeon 9000 64MB DDR.. and I've the same problem even at 640X480 with low details..

With Radeon 9200 128DDR runs better, no slow downs at medium details..

So, I think it needs at least 128 video RAM.

yeah, it could be a ram issue, thats a good point, perhaps anything less than 128mb wouldnt run the game well...what a shame, not everyone can get top of the range graphics cards. That's quite bad on Konami's part.

I'm getting a GeForce FX 5200 since it's the best I can afford right now and just hope that this frame rate problem gets fixed in the future patches. I could get the PS2 but the graphics aren't so good and the patching is a pain in the ass.

I was right, my Geforce2 is able to run this game even at maximum resolution (1280x1024) and High detail and still runs a bit too quickly. Apply this patch over the original game fresh install, without the official patch:
http://www.reterioja.com/usuarios/anibal.ag/PES3_Acceleration_Patch.zip
Copy the speedup.exe inside to the pse3.exe directory or search for it after execute the patch. Even if you can't see the file displayed, press the button marked with ??(S), then run the game at full res and high quality. On my systems runs only a bit faster, but for you this "bit" may be a "lot"...But at least I know that my PC is more than able to run this game

You are right, now it runs like hell in 1024x768 on GForce 2 TI. AMD XP 1700+. Similar to good old GOAL! on PC. Now half or 3/4 of the Speed and it would run fine... Looks, as if Konami didn't realize what's the problem. This is absolutely no problem of the graphics card.

I play the game fine on a GF2 MX 400 card. Just disable your soundcard in device manager before you play. You lose sound but thats not a big loss with the commentary in this game
